written tasks and their language choices. We are sure you were impressed by the quality of the written pieces presented at the Artic Book Fair. Well done to our winners, Riley, Star, Eva and Piper. Book Fair Prizes The traditional poster draw was held on Tuesday morning. All students go into the draw for a chance to win one of the great posters. Congratulations to the lucky winners. A big congratulations to Alex who guessed the correct number of snow balls in Julie’s mystery jar. He won himself a pack of novelty gifts. Great estimating from our youngest Bauple student! Netball Carnival Over the past several weeks, we have been proud to see keen students practise and prepare for the Netball Carnival. Unfortunately, wet weather meant this event could not go ahead. We still congratulate our enthusiastic students for their persistence and effort throughout the term. We sincerely thank Bec Gundry for her hard work coaching our students. Thanks also to Tiaro state School for your time in planning and preparing for the event. We will keep you posted if another date is able to be set. Term 4 Class Changes Next term, Prep/1/2 and Year 5 will work with Mrs Chin for English and Year 3/4 and 6 will work with Mrs Bryce. Staff have discussed the change and identified that this will be a successful way for delivering Term 4 units. One of the main reasons is that Year 3 and 4 students have a unit based on the same text so they will have an opportunity to work and learn together. Please see the teaching team if you have any questions about how English will be delivered next term. Great Readers – Great Results! Mrs Bryce and I are currently completing end of term reading assessments. We have been very impressed by student progress. It is pleasing to see that our English lessons, support programs, student engagement and support from home are contributing to great results. Keep up the great work! Lettuce Who enjoyed a fresh Bauple grown lettuce last week? I sure did. Congratulations to Mary-Anne and our gardeners. Thanks also to Steve and his helpers who have led the planting of more vegetables. We look forward to more fresh produce next term. School Camp We are pleased to confirm that we have met the numbers for this whole school camp to Fraser Island. The excursion will take place in Week 4 (28th to 30th October). Invoices and more information will be sent home shortly. School Watch Please keep an eye on our school over the holidays. Report any suspicious activity to School Watch on 13 17 88. Beach to the Bush Last week we had a visit from the Queensland Life Savers. They talked to us about water safety, sun safety and shared ways we can be safe at the beach. We thank them for an enjoyable and informative presentation. P.S. I think they were also quite surprised by how knowledgeable our students were!

Sporting Schools – Ten Pin Bowling Last term we purchased a school ten pin bowling set to provide a different sporting option for our students. It has taken a little while to reach us but student shave quickly warmed to sharing a game with each other. Students have been practising their ‘rock on fingers’ and ‘spider man release’ in preparation for our upcoming Ten Pin Bowling excursion. Ask your child to show you how to bowl like a pro! Keys To Success On Monday students and staff enjoyed a fun day at Maryborough Ten Pin Bowling followed by pizza, poppers and a play at the park. It is always valuable to have celebration days where all students are included in recognition of their effort and progress from throughout the term. Students participate in regular B4L (behaviour for learning) lessons and excursions such as these allow us to demonstrate our learning in a fun way. There was great bowling and many opportunities to show persistence, resilience, confidence, organisation and getting along. Pre-service Teacher Next term we welcome Courtney Larson to Bauple. Courtney is studying education through the University of the Sunshine Coast. She is looking forward to working with us all over her four week practicum experience. Please make her feel welcome. Show and Share Morning This morning our students had the opportunity to show and share some of their hard work that they have competed in English this term. Students enjoyed sharing their work with each other and this is a valuable opportunity for continued learning. 2021 Enrolments – For School and e-Kindy We would be delighted to meet any new students and are accepting enrolments. Please let family or friends know that we are taking enrolments for 2021 and look forward to meeting them soon! Pre-Prep Sessions Prep students for 2021 are invited to join us on Monday mornings from 8:45 am until 12 pm. We look forward to our future Bauple students working with us over the coming weeks. Please see Mrs Chin for further information. Congratulations Congratulations to our Senior student Star who recently won a prize in a state-wide art competition. Star entered the drawing competition with a watercolour pencil drawing of a gecko. She won second prize overall and $150 cash! Star said she is saving up for something special. Well done Star!

P&C News We have had a fantastic fortnight for fundraising, with great success with our Father’s Day raffle. We were able to raise $810 of much needed funds to help our P&C to continue to support our wonderful school. Congratulations to Judy Sokol, who was the lucky winner of our great prize, the Stihl Pressure cleaner, kindly donated by B&H Rural. We would like to take this time to thank Steve and Toni in at B&H Rural for their generous donation and we greatly appreciate their support of our school. We would also like to thank all of our families who helped sell and purchase tickets. Congratulations to

Heidi and Abby, who were presented with Happy Day vouchers for selling the most tickets. The girls did a great job, getting out and about in Station Square on the weekend before Father’s Day selling tickets. Our pie drive has also been finalised for this year, with orders collected on Monday. We were able to raise approximately $280 from this fundraiser and would like to thank all families that supported us with this. Also a special thank you to Gavan who kindly delivered the pies out to us on the Monday.

P-3 NEWS

Students have produced some very entertaining written work during English this term. Our prep student has written a great rhyme, Year 1 students have retold a cultural story, our Year 2 students have written a new story event and our Year 3s have written a narrative. It has been really great to see enthusiasm and students enjoying sharing their work. Well done! During Science students have been busy making toys. This has allowed them to demonstrate their knowledge of push and pull forces. These master pieces will be heading home soon. Have your child show and share what they have created. Stay safe and enjoy the remainder of your week. Jess Chin 4-6 NEWS
