Operations
Talkgroup Planning and Next Steps
• Radio IDs already consistent with the WISCOM numbering plan
• WISCOM daily use grants are speeding the talkgroup planning process– Recent assignments for Monona and Stoughton PDs
and Cross Plains FD• Neither of the above steps are required for ISSI;
there’s just more local coordination than that standard is designed to accommodate.
Operations
Talkgroup Planning and Next Steps
• Radio Spectrum & Licensing Issues– Petition for FCC waiver filed; public comment period
expected soon• All municipal licenses within Dane County were included
– DaneCom frequency plan requires local cooperation• Mainly Letters of Concurrence (LOCs)• Some vacation of current channels
Operations
Talkgroup Planning and Next Steps
• Pagers– We anticipate the carrier frequency (158.775 MHz)
changing– We’re also prepared to change the audio tone matrix
for more efficient group-calling, if stakeholders find this useful
