HOW TO OVERCOME THESE BARRIERS

• Compromise the cultures and age groups you are presenting to

• Use animations to engage audience and use relevant colours that grab attention

• Make sure information is factual and not opinion based

• Have open question involved so audience can involve themselves

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS BARRIERS

• Variety of interpersonal communication

• Techniques and cues may not be on time or/ and are not relevant

• Use of positive and negative language

• Engagement

• Background noise or other distractions

• Questions used

• Response to question and how quickly you respond

OVER COMING INTERPERSONAL SKILL BARRIERS• Knowledge/ awareness in other means of communication

• Good body language, include or don’t include ‘smileys’, and capitalisation of text

• Be positive in the way you speak

• Engage whoever you talk to or make sure you are engaged when they’re speaking

• Relevant use of questions and timing of response

COMMUNICATION: WRITING BARRIERS

• Language barriers

• Maybe unclear to partner what you have written

• Audience may not fully understand

• Partner may differ with what you have written

• Not reviewing other documents

OVERCOMING COMMUNICATION WRITTEN BARRIERS • Know who you are writing too

• Clear written communication

• Proof read work

• Make sure nothing is left unclear

• Cover all relevant opinions and viewpoints

• Review other pieces of work and take note
