According to the narrative account of the older residents the name Pical came from Percal- a kind of cloth that Spanish traders brought to this island. As years passed by Percal was shortened to Pical. Barangay Pical is bounded on the north by Barangay Barangonan; east, Sulu Sea; west, West Philippine Sea, and in the south by the municipality of Taytay, Palawan. Seventy percent (70%) of its population belong to Tagbanua tribe.

History

Long time ago the inhabitants of this barangay had access to trade from the other part

of Calamian Groups of Island and probably even with the foreign traders like Chinese. According

Catholic is the dominant religion of the inhabitants. They celebrate their fiesta during

May 21-22 in honor of Sta. Rita of Casia as their patron saint.
