Backward DesignBy
Donia & Jukay
Have you ever been teaching without knowing where you are going and feeling like there is no end to the lesson?
Not such a good experience, right?
Common mistakes of traditional design
Trying to cover everything in the curriculum without engaging the students
Not having the specific goals before planning lessons and activities
What is backward design?
One starts with the end (the desired results) and then derives curriculum from the evidence of learning.
Three stages of backward design:
First, what results you want to achieve?
Second, how will you know you achieve your desired results?
Third, what are your plans to meet your goals?
ARE YOU READY TO START FROM THE END?
