Backup Openbravo
How to Backup Openbravo ERP
This article describes how to backup your Openbravo. Openbravo backup is an important activity, since
you do not want to lose your Openbravo operational data and configuration. When you backup your
Openbravo, you need to use snapshoot.xml as a tool which is available on a form of files that can be
downloaded here . After downloading, copy your snapshoot.xml file to your Openbravo installation
folder (OPENBRAVO_HOME).
Backup
1. open terminal, go to OPENBRAVO_HOME
2. if running on Windows, run command bellow:
ant -f snapshoot.xml
3. if running on Linux, run command bellow:
sudo ant -f snapshoot.xml
Wait for moment, snapshoot.xml is doing backup your Openbravo. Backup file (zip) will be located in parent folder of
OPENBRAVO_HOME with file name format _.zip. In this backup file, will include all source
and SQL script of your Openbravo database. But, not included any classes that deployed on your Tomcat.
Restore
1. delete all files on OPENBRAVO_HOME
2. extract all files on your Openbravo backup file to OPENBRAVO_HOME
3. open terminal, go to OPENBRAVO_HOME
4. if run on Windows, run command bellow:
ant -f snapshoot.xml restore
5. if running on Linux, run command bellow:
sudo ant -f snapshoot.xml restore
6. deploy your Openbravo, run command bellow:
ant smartbuild
Create Another Openbravo Instance
Your Openbravo backup file can be used as a tool for creating new Openbravo instance. This is very usefull, for
example: you have been developing Openbravo, and you want to apply your development to other machine. Run steps
bellow to create another Openbravo Instance:
1. create new OPENBRAVO_HOME, you can do it on the same or different machine
2. extract all files on your Openbravo backup file to this new OPENBRAVO_HOME
3. edit openbravo.properties on OPENBRAVO_HOME/config, Set their variable according to this new database and
Tomcat, especially database name and context name
4. open terminal, go to this new OPENBRAVO_HOME
5. if running on Windows, run command bellow:
ant -f snapshoot.xml restore
6. if running on Linux, run command bellow:
sudo ant -f snapshoot.xml restore
