Do you have an eye for interior design which you could convert into a career?The Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) gets you ready to work as a commercial interior designer. This career-oriented course teaches you how to create innovative concepts for commercial projects and develop a deep understanding of how people interact with spaces.

You will explore the spatial, structural and material elements of built interior environments and learn how to think critically, work proactively and manage complex design plans from the first concept through to a completed project.

In your final year, you will complete a major project, specialising in an area of your own interest. You will also complete an internship in a design practice which will get you ready to go to work as an interior design professional.

HOW DO I COMPLETE THE COURSE?The Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) requires you to complete 24 subjects and a total of 240 credit points.

CAN I BE RECOGNISED FOR PREVIOUS STUDIES AND EXPERIENCE?

If you have completed studies in a related field or have extensive industry experience which is relevant, you may be eligible for exemption from similar subjects. All applications for exemption must be made to the course coordinator and include supporting documents. You should attend classes until you are formally advised that your application for exemption has been granted.

CAN I ENROL IF I AM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT?

International students can enrol in most TAFE NSW degree courses, subject to meeting course entry requirements and satisfying student visa conditions.
