DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS and BUSINESS34-CREDIT B.A. IN ECONOMICS

This program is designed to provide adequate proficiency in the field of economics and the foundation for further training in this academic discipline as well as other disci-plines such as business administration or law.

Students selecting this major must complete the follow-ing credit requirements:

REQUIRED COURSES (18 credits)

12 in economic analysis: *ECO 166, *167, 300, 301

6 in quantitative methods: *ECO 302, 402 (students who have successfully complet-ed or transferred BBA 303 will be given credit for ECO 302 and be allowed to take ECO 402)

ECONOMICS ELECTIVES (12 credits)

12 four 300- or 400-level ECO courses selected with guidance from the department’s faculty or Academic Ad-viser (CA-381). Only courses with an ECO prefix can be counted toward this major, except for BBA 305, 324, 326, and 431. Note that two special prerequisites are in place for BBA 431, namely BBA 204 and ECO 302 or BBA 303.

MINORS OFFERED By THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS

MINOR IN ECONOMICSConsists of ECO 300, 301, 302 and one additional 300- and 400-level elective course with ECO prefix. Not open to stu-dents majoring in Accounting or Business Administration.

MINOR IN ACCOUNTINGConsists of ACC 272, 334, 335, and one additional 300- or 400-level ACC course. Not open to students majoring in Busi-ness Administration. MINOR IN MANAGEMENT Consists of BBA 204, 303, 405, and 407. Not open to stu-dents majoring in Accounting or Business Administration. Economics majors who enroll in this minor cannot get credit for BBA 303, which substantially coincides with ECO 302. These students must substitute another 300- or 400-level BBA course in place of BBA 303.

MINOR IN BUSINESS PRACTICEConsists of any four courses with a BBA prefix that are 200-level and higher. Not open to students majoring in Ac-counting or Business Administration. Students majoring in Economics cannot take BBA 303 under this minor.

MINOR IN BUSINESS AND LIBERAL ARTSConsists of ACC 185, BBA 204, BBA 328 or BBA 332, and COM 300 or PHI 330. Not open to students majoring in Business Administration or Accounting.

MINOR IN THEATER MANAGEMENTConsists of THE 348, 448 and BBA 204, 407. Not open to students majoring in Business Administration or Accounting.
