Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has steroidal lactones (withanolides and

withaferin), anahygrine, anaferine, cuscohygrine,

pseudotropine, and heterogeneous alkaloids which reduce

cortisol production. High cortisol levels are linked to sleep

deprivation, hardening of arteries, muscle loss, increased

fat storage, loss of bone mass, depression, hypertension,

insulin resistance, lower growth hormone, and testosterone

production. Its restorative action to the nervous system

prevents these serious ramifications. Ashwagandha is also
