Basic application of the modular Axle Counter BO23-MT system is the LRT section occupancy control (Metro, Tram, Mono- rail, APM / Automated People Mover…) for both block section and station section occupancy control. It can be also used for level-crossing occupancy control. The processor software is programmed according to CENELEC EN 50128, EN 50159 safety principles. Railwheel detection, signal processing and transmission are made according to CENELEC EN 50129. Used especially for the control of LRT sections in Metro, Tram, Automated People Mover (APM) and Monorail applications. One (19” × 3U) controls up to 8 counting points configured on 1 to 6 sections plus fail safe long automatic block section control according to EN 50159 using all the existing communication media, transmission systems and networks. Microprocessor module with 2-out-of-3 safety structure. Advanced EMI filtration and lightning strikes influence immunity. The complete axle counter system consists of the indoor unit BO23-MT UNUR and the railwheel detection sensor ZK24-2 or ZK24-M (pneumatic metro, monorail and APM applications). Local or remote (via Ethernet network) diagnostics on PC. Train direction safety outputs for special tram and metro applications. Easy maintenance with system self-testing and simple failure indication. 4-wire connection between indoor and outdoor equipment (separate twisted pair for each detection channel). Possible to use trackside box with Lighting Protection Module ZGK if needed. Front LED indication for easy diagnostics: train direction, signal out of range, transmission line short-circuit, interruption, counting point power supply monitoring.
