Achievements to dateAchievements to date • Have all trade areas assessing onsite Fabrication 70% Fitout (carpentry)70% Engineering 50% (wound back from 70%) Electrical 25% (regulatory controls)

• Log book has been developed in conjunction with INDUSTRY and TAFE , skilled professionals working together to ensure the document meets all departmental requirements.

• Establish a good working relationship. Regular meetings with departmental managers Always take the opportunity to involve managers/supervisors in

training programs

• Austal trade areas developing training matrix to monitor apprentices progress

• Apprentices want the TAFE lecturer involved in his/her onsite training

Where to from hereWhere to from here• Constant monitoring and planing in all trade areas to

improve the workforce development project

• Training for industry so they can better understand and interpret training packages and programs

• More consultation with industry to better understand their training requirements

• Always look for ways to improve the workplace assessing and theory content of all trade areas

• Assist apprentices with all training requirements don’t let them think they are doing it all alone

• Continue to improve and progress forward
