AUGUST 05, 2012 EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Today, Jesus, in St. John’s Gospel ties His teaching to the reading from Exodus. He tells the crowd that their ancestors ate manna in the desert provided not by Moses, but from His heavenly Father. Jesus reveals in the Gospel that He is the “Bread of Life”. Those who come to Him will be spiritually filled. St. Paul teaches us that through Christ we will acquire a fresh, spiritual way of thinking. We, as Christian stewards, acknowledge Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist, which translated from the Greek, means “thanksgiving”. We stand in awe and gratitude for this tremendous blessing that gives us strength and courage to find and do God’s will.

a él serán espiritualmente llenos.

For the leaders of our nation: that they may remember that the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness apply to all people, from conception to natural death; We pray to the Lord.

“INQUIRY” TO BEGIN SOON

Do you hear that “little voice”—the one that might be calling you to the Catholic faith? We invite any and all adults who are interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a Catholic to come to our Inquiry sessions that will begin on Monday, August 20th at 7:00 PM. We will meet in the Parish Hall (the big room downstairs from the main church). These sessions are quite informal and there is no obligation, no strings attached. Come, ask questions and reflect—and then decide if you’d like to move on to the more structured process of becoming a Catholic. Details will be explained during the Inquiry period. For further information please feel free to call our parish coordinator for this program, Cathy Warren at (770) 947-2403.

AUGUST 05, 2012 EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church celebrates it’s 27th anniversary on August 8, 2012 and we not only reflect on all that has taken place and what we have accomplished in the past 27 years, we also look forward to what is yet to come and to an exciting future full of possibilities!

In August of 1985 we started with only a few families and have since become a flourishing multicultural parish of well over a thousand families peacefully joined together as one in the Eucharist. As a family community we have welcomed many different pastors, priests and deacons and have been blessed with several of our own parishioners dedicating their lives to the religious life through ordination. We have blessedly celebrated thousands of Sacraments through Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, Reconciliations, Anointing, Marriages and Ordinations. As a loving, supporting family we have also solemnly joined together to say goodbye to many of our members as they have passed from earthly life to be with our Savior in the hope that the mercy of God will join us together again.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we have the opportunity to dream together about where the future will lead us as a parish family. With God’s grace and Mary’s leading, we will continue to grow and develop the Body of Christ as a vibrant parish family dedicated to the ways of St. Theresa of Lisieux.

HAPPY 27TH ANNIVERSARY ST. THERESA’S !!

¡FELIZ 27º ANIVERSARIO PARA SANTA TERESA!
