Main characteristics of ALM

•   The dialog is used to present the new material;

•   Mime, memorization and learning are interdependent;

•   Using the contrastive analysis, the structures are taught one by one;

•   Repetitive exercises are used to teach structure models;

•   The grammar is learned by the inductive analogy, so there is no grammar explana

•   The vocabulary is explained in the context, and strictly limited;

•   Visual resources, audio recordings and language laboratories are used a lot in this

•   The pronunciation has to be similar to the native speakers;

•   The usage of the native language is almost forbidden;

•   Successful responses are always reinforced.
