Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for my rock magazine would be males and females aged between 15 and 25, mostly students, who are interested in rock music and like to read about rock artists in their spare time. I think there will be less readers over 25 because the music that its based on is very new and what teenagers/early twenties find enjoyable to listen to.

My Typical Reader

• My magazine reader is an 18 year old male student. He is very passionate about rock music and he buys a rock music magazine every week. He spends about £3 on one a week. He listens to music at his home daily and every time he goes out he has his iPod on him. He used to be in a band before he went to university, which was a rock band with his friends. They played gigs locally and he was very dedicated. He is now trying to set up a new band with his new uni friends. He wants it to be of the same genre as his old band. He plays guitar and he is currently learning to play the drums. He always wears band t shirts and usually dark clothing. He enjoys going to gigs/concerts either locally or in another city.

• My research showed me that the readers who did my questionnaire like to read interviews with artist therefore I did an interview for my article on the double page spread.

• The audience who I initially had in mind for my magazine has stayed the same throughout he production of the product.
