Schools undertaking this approach have won School of the Year awards and hadtheir impacts shared at maths conferences across Australia and Aotearoa NZ. Robcontinues to work across both countries and in 2020 moved to ŌtautahiChristchurch. After working as a Maths Inquiry mentor and a Deputy Principal hejoined the global team of The Learner First to continue his journey for helpingākonga connect to and identify with mathematics.

• adapt resources for instant levelling up and down in class

• create rich tasks to link stands and reduce content overload

• integrate key and cultural competencies into ākonga experience
