based business. This program includes Food Handlers Training, as stated in the Food Hygiene Regulation 2009
(Peraturan Kebersihan Makanan 2009) enacted on 28 February 2009, any non-compliance to the above can result in
a fine of not more than RM 10,000 or not more than 2 years imprisonment. Thus, all food handlers shall undergo
Food Handlers Training Course conducted by an approved Food Handlers Training School, recognized by the
MOH.Food safety training courses will be an integral part of many organizations with frequent training programs
being undertaken for new employees as well as refresher courses for existing staff and need to keep up with the lat-
est in the food industry and also keep their certification up to date. This basic but comprehensive program will im-
part useful guidelines and knowledge on food handling practices and also training in the principles of food hygiene
and safety, Food Safety Certification and brief introduction to the Malaysian Food Law and Labelling.

Trainer Chandran Thangayah, is the Principal consultant and certi-
fied trainer. He carries along with him 31 years of experience
from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. He holds a Bachelor's
degree in Food Safety & Nutrition from UKM in year 2000
and completed his Master's Degree in Food Science from
UKM in 2008. He also holds a Diploma from Royal Society
of London in Public Health (1985). His extensive experience
will be able to provide clients with effective and up to date
technical advice in the area of HACCP, GMP, MeSTI, BeSS,
Food Labeling, Hygiene & Sanitation, Food Sampling,
Mineral water, Drinking water & Ice Licensing, Inspection of
Food Premises, Food Safety Legislation (Malaysian Food
Act & Regulation 1985, requirements for Export of Fish &
Fish products to EU & USA He also brings along vast
experience as a Lead Auditor for Food Factories including
Ajinomoto (Malaysia), Nestle, Cadbury’s, Cerebos, Cargill

a member of the Malaysian Institute of Food Technologies
(MIFT) and the Malaysian Association of Environmental
Health (MAEH). Chandran is a Certified Trainer with the
Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF). He is also a
Certified Food Handler’s Trainer for Ministry of Health.
