Audience & PrerequisitesCourse is intended to improve the attitudes and motivation of both

supervisors/managers and employees.

● Supervisors/managers: After receiving training, you should be very familiar and comfortable with the understanding of a growth mindset and how it improves attitude and motivation

● Employees: No prerequisites needed

Room Arrangement & Materials Needed To get the full effect of the training, seating should be fan-shaped.

Room should include:● Computer with video, “Importance of growth mindsets to improve performance”

Survey & EvaluationDuring training, supervisors/managers or employees will receive an attitude survey. This survey will:

1) Collect feelings towards the company 2) Determine organization’s needs3) Help motivate employees and improve job satisfaction

At the end of training, supervisors/managers or employees will receive a post-test evaluation form. Similar to the attitude survey, this form will:

1) Collect feelings towards this training lesson2) Identify the positives and negatives of the training3) Gather the affective outcomes from trainees

- motivation to learn, attitudes, career strategies, work abilities

● Abilities and talent can be developed

through hard work and dedication

- personal and workplace

● Creates better self-confidence and

self-esteem

● Increases the love of learning

Steps to Obtaining Growth Mindset 9:30-10:30 A.M.

5 Key Steps1. Listen to your inner voice

- Determine if it’s doubtful and critical

2. Recognize that you have the choice to determine your abilities- Face challenges head on and stretch yourself

3. Talk back to your inner voice with growth mindset voice- “I will keep trying.” “Mistakes help me improve.” “I will use the strategies I know to

solve this.”

4. Take action with your growth mindset- Face a challenge without doubt, learn from your mistakes, and act on criticism

5. Practice, practice, practice!!!- Keep trying, eventually you’ll get it

Behavior Modeling Exercise 1-2 P.M.1. Instructor and one trainee write on a piece of paper their biggest dream and career

goals2. One at a time, they read each other what they’ve written3. After the trainee has gone, they are to tell each other how they feel about their

strategies to achieve these dreams and goals4. After the trainee has gone, they are to give each other feedback

- do they have a fixed or growth mindset, are they pushing themselves to actually achieve, do they understand their abilities, etc

5. After each give feedback, the instructor and trainee are to write down their plan of action, speaking from the growth mindset and are to repeat back to each other

6. Next, trainees are to repeat step 17. Trainees need to pair up and repeat steps 2-5

Action Learning Exercise 2:15-3:15 P.M.1. Trainees are to be put in new groups of 3 or 42. Groups are to use their skills of growth mindset to answer the questions:

i. If you owned your own company, how would you structure the environment? ii. Such as, what would you do to ensure high levels of motivation and positive attitudes towards

work?

3. After deliberation, each group chooses a representative to share ideas to entire group

4. By working together, the entire group is to write on the whiteboard the best possible and realistic ways to increase motivation and improve attitudes

5. After the training is over, each trainee is to perform one task to increase their motivation and improve their attitude
