Terms & ConditionsWedding CoordinatorAt the Hotel Grand Chancellor Surfers Paradise, your wedding is just as important to us as it is to you. Our experienced team of wedding planners are professional and innovative, ensuring your every expectation is met. Once your wedding is confirmed and contracted, one of our experienced wedding planners will arrange to meet with you to discuss your very special day. Your wedding planner will be with you from the initial planning stages through until your Wedding Day and will work with you to ensure your dream wedding is as exciting and individual as you are.
Event ThemeingIncluded in the wedding package are all table centrepieces, chair covers, sashes and decorated bridal and cake table. You will also receive a complimentary consultation with our event stylist to discuss your wedding requirements.
Menu TastingA menu tasting is a necessity when planning a wedding and the Hotel’s Executive Chef is happy to cater to all requirements. Chef’s assistance with your wedding menu will reflect the Hotel’s food innovation and creativity with your wedding day dreams. Menu tastings are offered for plated menus only, once contracted.
CeremonyCeremony packages are only available when holding a wedding reception at the Hotel. A permit to hold a ceremony in a public venue is required from the Gold Coast City Council. Seating and capacity limits apply. Application forms can be downloaded from the Council website http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au. Alternatively your dedicated Event Coordinator will be able to assist with additional information.
GardenMaximum 20 chairs are permissible. Approximately a limit of two (2) hours is permitted for the ceremony and set up to take place. Ceremony only and the party is to be limited to a maximum of 50 – 70 people. If access is limited to site – set-up fee may apply. Decision to hold ceremony in our indoor venue in the event of wet weather must be reached at least three (3) hours prior to ceremony.

Bookings and ConfirmationBookings can be made on a confirmed basis twelve months from the date of your wedding with an initial deposit of $1,000, for receptions in our Boulevarde Room. This confirmation is also available for bookings in our Sunset Room providing there is a minimum of 100 guests - $1000 initial deposit also required. Should your reception be less than 100 guests and you wish to utilise the Sunset Room, Hotel Grand Chancellor Surfers Paradise is able to hold the function space on a tentative basis twelve months from date of your wedding reception with confirmation advised six months prior to the date of your function. A catering confirmation agreement will be issued and a signed copy of this agreement is required within 14 days to confirm your booking. A second deposit equal to 50% of your final account is due 60 days prior to your event. The balance of the account is due 7 days prior to your function. All prices are inclusive of GST and are valid 1 January 2010 – 31 December 2010.
CancellationThe management of the hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking and allocate the venue to another client if confirmation is not received by the due date. Should you wish to cancel your booking prior to the confirmation date, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can release the booking and allow the space to become available to other clients. No charges will be incurred.If your function is cancelled after the confirmation date, the following conditions apply:
6-2 months prior to the event, the Hotel shall retain the initial deposit of $1,000.Within 60-30 days of the event, the Hotel shall retain both the initial deposit and second deposit, equal to 50% of the total estimated expenditure.Within 30 days of the event, the Hotel shall retain 100% of total estimated expenditure.
Non Smoking PolicyIn accordance with Qld State Law, the Courtyard by Marriott Surfers Paradise Hotel is a non smoking venue.
MiscellaneousA surcharge of $200 will apply for the cleaning of embellishments used in the rooms, i.e. confetti, rose petals, table scatters.
