Wednesday Analyze Learners: My class is an assorted mixture of girls and boys. I have 10 boys and 9 girls, 16 Caucasian and 3 African American. No learning impairments. State Objectives: 9 th grade students will be able to properly explain using YouTube and PowerPoints how the United States successfully invaded the beaches of Normandy. Students will do this with 100% accuracy by the end of the day. Select Methods: Students will learn how to create a YouTube video and a PowerPoint presentation in order to convey their research on the United States’ invasion of the beaches of Normandy. The students will have to turn both in to be graded, but will only have to present one of them to the class over the next 2 days. They will have to at least have their voice in the video, but do not have to show their face. The video should be at least 2 minutes long and tell what they now know about D-Day. The PowerPoint should do the same, but they should include images. They will have points deducted if they have not presented by the end of class on Friday. Utilize Media and Material: - We will first discuss their YouTube assignment - I will pull up a YouTube video I made onto the Smart Board and let them view it for ideas.

Analyze Learners: My class is an assorted mixture of girls and boys. I have 10 boys

and 9 girls, 16 Caucasian and 3 African American. No learning impairments.

State Objectives: 9th grade students will be able to properly explain using YouTube

and PowerPoints how the United States successfully invaded the beaches of Normandy. Students will do this with 100% accuracy by the end of the day.

Select Methods: Students will learn how to create a YouTube video and a PowerPoint

presentation in order to convey their research on the United States’ invasion of the beaches of Normandy.

Utilize Media and Material:

- We will first discuss their YouTube assignment- I will pull up a YouTube video I made onto the Smart Board and let them view it for ideas.- I will then show them the steps to take on YouTube.com to create their own video.- They will go to their computer and I will instruct them how to use PowerPoint by showing

them a presentation I had already made on another topic.- I will let them research and create their PowerPoints in class, leaving them to create their

videos at home.- I will walk around the classroom for the remainder of class helping whoever needs

assistance.

Require Learner Participation: Students will have to complete both

assignments by Friday before class, and will also have to present one of them before the end of class on Friday. Their projects will be graded based on quality, and they will be graded based on participation in regard to their actual presentation. Participation is required throughout everything to obtain a grade.

Evaluate and Revise:

I will observe how diligently the students work on their projects and if they show steady participation. They will get an overall grade on their projects, and like I already stated, an overall participation grade if they present their project no matter how good or bad it is. If they have any problems on their assignments, they can be revised over the weekend and presented on Monday for a slightly lower grade.
