As we journey though life there are ups and downs. When we are knocked down we need a pick-me-up, or as the Italians

might say, a “tira-mi-su.” No matter what way you are knocked down, Jesus is there to pick you up. Especially when we are ill

we need Jesus to pick us up and that is why a large part of the Church’s ministry is in healthcare and looking after those who are

ill. We are also aware of those who have received miraculous physical healings at shrines like Lourdes and Knock. They remind

us that Jesus wishes to heal us today just as he did in Palestine 2000 years ago. Through the Church Jesus continues to heal,

taking the those who are ill by the hand and saying, “Talitha kum”, “...I tell you to get up.” (Mark 5:41) Let us have faith in the

healing power of Jesus and allow Jesus to take us by the hand when we need and help us up. Let us have faith in the power of

Jesus to reverse bad situations.

To begin the healing of these types of knocks I would like to recall for you the motto chosen by the Catholic Church for the

Jubilee 2000, “Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) No matter when you were hurt,

remembering that today, yesterday and tomorrow are the same for Jesus, ask him to walk back in time with you to the day when

you suffered a particular hurt or received the news of your illness. Close your eyes now and imagine Jesus by your side or in

front of you…Make your way through the crowd to Jesus like the bleeding woman…In your imagination touch Jesus’ cloak

wishing for his healing…(Mark 5:27-28) Feel the love of Jesus healing you….Hear Jesus say to you, “Your faith has restored

you to health…”….(Mark 5:34) Or in your imagination see Jesus take you by the hand as he took Jairus’ daughter by hand and

let Jesus help you up, “I tell you to get up”….(Mark 5:41) Jesus said about the girl, “She is not dead, only asleep.” (Mark 5:39)

Hear Jesus say to you, “Your wound is not permanent, it is only temporary, I am healing you”…Let Jesus comfort you after the

hurt you received….Let the love of Jesus replace all the damage and hurt and woundedness….Just as the Good Samaritan poured

oil and wine on the wounds of the injured man on the road to Jericho (Luke 10:34), let Jesus pour his love on your wounds and

replace your wounds with his love…Touch Jesus’ garments and let your bleeding, your suffering, dry up…Hear Jesus say to you,

“You are not dead, only asleep. Get up”….Tell Jesus about your pain and hurt….Feel the love of Jesus replacing your wounds

with his love, healing you and making you whole again.

Pray to Jesus like this for 15 or 20 minutes every day for as long as it takes your wound to heal. Pray to Jesus whatever way

helps for as long as possible each day. Come to Jesus in faith. Jesus cares about you more than anyone and does not want you to

remain wounded and hurt. He wants you well and at peace to enjoy life. Come to Jesus through the crowd in faith, reach out and

touch him. Let him take you by the hand and raise you up. “My daughter, your faith has restored you to health; go in peace and

be free of your complaint.” “Little girl, I tell you to get up.”

ACCOLADES FROM THE MARKETING COMMITTEE

I personally would like to start by THANKING my Co-Designer Frank Matzelle for all his hard work and

dedication that he put into the “New Marketing Booth”. Also, to be acknowledge at the start, would be Co-

Creators Jon Laubscher, Barb Fichter and James Meeks for their support.

Having a booth that represents Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community is vital to our growth. It affirms

our existence in the community and is a great way to get out there to socialize, visualize, and understand our

neighbors. Many times, there is no immediate gratification by visually seeing attendance in Church growth but,

we are vessels doing God’s work to letting his people know that Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community is

there for them when the time is right.

Now, I must acknowledge some more “Blessed” people that helped us! THANK YOU to Father Victor Ray,

who’s mere existence brings that certain “Spirit” everywhere he goes. He greeted the community and handed out

candy just like Mother Teresa would have. Maybe we should start calling him Father Victor Teresa Ray, LOL!

Then we have Father Martin dePorres better known as “Father Carnival”. Father Martin really knows how to

work a crowd. He probably handed out most of the Fans and Marketing Brochures and when they were all gone

started collecting names for the Raffle. Next, we have Florence Jean-Pierre and Anthony Guerrier who lent a

hand passing out Fans and Flyers. Florence and Anthony both have this aura around them that people tend to

gravitate to. They both stood out in front of the booth in 90+ degree heat and were taking in, some would say

strange sights, and people felt so comfortable around them. We are so “Blessed” to have these two spirits helping

us! Also working the Booth and Crowd were Frank, Jon and Barb. I stood back a couple of times and just

watched these three people. It occurred to me that not only were they invested in the project but, that we are

special to have these three people on our side. Flexible, passionate and sincerely helpful to not only Saint Teresa

but the Community. Now, one finally to thank person I need to mention. Aryn Zahnow filled in my shoes

(wonderfully) at Church and then came to help tear down the booth. Aryn is a man of many talents and never

complains. It is always a pleasure to have Aryn around because he is a person that is great in case of any disaster

that might or could happen. Aryn is one person that is needed on your side.

“CHANGES THAT WERE MADE”

STOCCC had made one significant change when it was developed. In the past if you wanted to do anything

within the Church you had to make a presentation to the “C” (Council). This type of governing created turmoil and

stressed people out. Saint Teresa has developed the H.O.M (House of Ministries) and the H.O.T (House of

Trustees).

True Story: I wanted to do a booth for the Pride Festival. I went to the H.O.M. and told them the Date of the

Event, Marketing Committee was putting together a Booth and our Entrance Fee was $139.00. No Presentation,

No Sales Pitch, No Document that needed to be scrutinized. They approved the Entrance Cost based on Trusting

an Individual who is being guided by GOD! If I were to screw it up then, who cares, learn from mistakes and

make it better next year. If I needed guidance Ask, And It Shall Be Granted. The one thing that Saint Teresa of

Calcutta Catholic Community will NEVER do is to “Put a Damper on Creativity that was Developed by GOD!

If you want to do an event, Let the H.O.M. know the Name of the Event, Date of Event and if you need any

assistance.

To all those that were involved in The Pride Festival Booth,

THANK YOU and MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Very Gratefully,

William Schwartz

PLEASE have a happy, safe, and healthy 4TH OF JULY SEASON!

OUR NEW ADVERTISING SLOGAN

Jesus Christ has never denied anyone in the participation of the Seven Sacraments: Baptism,

Confirmation, Holy Communion, Confession, Marriage, Holy Orders, and the Anointing of the Sick.

If you believe this statement to be true, then Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community is the

Church for you,

Our mentor, Mother Teresa of Calcutta and We at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community

have one thing in common, our “LOVE” for our fellow being is a lesson learned from Jesus Christ.

***** NOTE TO THE CONGREGATION *****

To ensure that our mission here at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community grow and

survive, we need to adhere to our advertising slogan. It is time to let go of the past and start listening

to the message that Jesus and Father Victor preach every Sunday about “LOVE”. Alienating

individuals from Saint Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Community does not support our mission to help

those who really need our LOVE and ASSISTANCE. REMEMBER: I KNOW THERE WILL BE A

DAY OF PEACE. FOR THIS, LET US ALL WORK AND PRAY.

Reading 1 WISDOM 1:13-15; 2:23-24

God did not make death,

nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.

For he fashioned all things that they might have being;

and the creatures of the world are wholesome,

and there is not a destructive drug among them

nor any domain of the netherworld on earth,

for justice is undying.

For God formed man to be imperishable;

the image of his own nature he made him.

But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world,

and they who belong to his company experience it.

Hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church

Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm PSALM 30:2, 4 , 5-6 , 11, 12, 13

R. I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me. I will extol you, O LORD, for you drew me clear and did not let my enemies rejoice over me. O LORD, you brought me up from the netherworld; you preserved me from among those going down into the pit. R. I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me. Sing praise to the LORD, you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger lasts but a moment; a lifetime, his good will. At nightfall, weeping enters in, but with the dawn, rejoicing. R. I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me. Hear, O LORD, and have pity on me; O LORD, be my helper. You changed my mourning into dancing; O LORD, my God, forever will I give you thanks. R. I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.

Reading 2 2 CORINTHIANS 8:7, 9 , 13-15

Brothers and sisters: As you excel in every respect, in faith, discourse, knowledge, all

earnestness, and in the love we have for you, may you excel in this gracious act also.

For you know the gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, for

your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich. Not that

others should have relief while you are burdened, but that as a matter of equality

your abundance at the present time should supply their needs, so that their abundance

may also supply your needs, that there may be equality. As it is written: Whoever had

much did not have more, and whoever had little did not have less.

Hear what the spirit is saying to the church.

Thanks be to God

Question of the Week:

How does not knowing that God is the God of life, not death, affect the

way I live my life? Am I courageous enough to stand up to those who do

not respect the basic human right to live?

Alleluia CF. 2 TIMOTHY 1:10

R. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.

R. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel MARK 5:21-43

When Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around

him, and he stayed close to the sea. One of the synagogue officials, named Jairus, came

forward. Seeing him he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, saying, "My

daughter is at the point of death. Please, come lay your hands on her that she may get

well and live." He went off with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed upon

him.

There was a woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years. She had suffered

greatly at the hands of many doctors and had spent all that she had. Yet she was not

helped but only grew worse. She had heard about Jesus and came up behind him in the

crowd and touched his cloak. She said, "If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured."

Immediately her flow of blood dried up. She felt in her body that she was healed of her

affliction. Jesus, aware at once that power had gone out from him, turned around in the

crowd and asked, "Who has touched my clothes?" But his disciples said to Jesus, "You

see how the crowd is pressing upon you, and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'" And he

looked around to see who had done it. The woman, realizing what had happened to her,

approached in fear and trembling. She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole

truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of

your affliction."

While he was still speaking, people from the synagogue official's house arrived and said,

"Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?" Disregarding the message

that was reported, Jesus said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid; just have faith."

He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside except Peter, James, and John, the

brother of James. When they arrived at the house of the synagogue official, he caught

sight of a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. So he went in and said to

them, "Why this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep." And they

ridiculed him. Then he put them all out.

He took along the child's father and mother and those who were with him and entered the

room where the child was. He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum,"

which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise!" The girl, a child of twelve, arose

immediately and walked around. At that they were utterly astounded. He gave strict

orders that no one should know this and said that she should be given something to eat.

This is the Gospel of the Lord

Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Michael W. Smith

When you're weary feeling small When tears are in your eyes I'll dry them all all

I'm on your side oh when times get rough And friends just can't be found

Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down

Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down

When you're down and out When you're on the street

When evening falls so hard I will comfort you ooh

I'll take your part oh when darkness comes And pain is all around

Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down

Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl

Sail on by Your time has come to shine

All your dreams are on their way See how they shine

Oh if you need a friend I'm sailing right behind

Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind

Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind

Yeah yeah
