Adeline Virginia Woolf (January 25, 1882 – March 28, 1941) was an English writer. She was one of the most important modernist literary figures of the 20th century. Louise Nevelson (September 23, 1899-April 17, 1988) was a sculptor, using found and discarded objects. She was associated with cubism, Dadaism, surrealism and minimalism. Mary Cassatt (May 22, 1844 – June 14, 1926) was an American painter. She lived in France. Her best friend was Edgar Degas. Cassatt often created images of the social and private lives of women, with emphasis on the relationship between mothers and children. Clara Josephine Wieck Schumann (September 13, 1819 – May 20, 1896) was an important German musician. She worked for 61-years. She changed the way we listen to music. Her husband was the composer Robert Schumann. She was the first pianist to give public concerts of some of Brahms' music. Amalia Lopez came to Jaén in 1858. She was the first female photographer in Jaén. She set up her studio in her home and focused on portraits but also on invitations, business cards and photographs of the city.
