Further Information Open House Open House aims to support our neighbouring communities in north Cambridge in becoming an active voice in the cultural offer of their city through developing innovative and engaging projects in collaboration with artists. Reflecting on Jim Ede's vision for Kettle’s Yard that art should be an integral part of life, we are working collaboratively with local residents, groups and organisations to develop a dynamic and integrated programme of exhibitions, residencies and activities over the next three years that will be accessible to everyone, support pioneering art practice and value the importance of direct experience with artworks as well as the beauty found in natural forms and everyday objects. Our first artist in residence (April to December 2015) is Emma Smith. With a particular interest in social and collective action, she investigates historic behaviour in relation to the present, drawing on local knowledge, issues, environments and how communities occupy public spaces. Please see www.emma-smith.com. To maximise participation and deepen the breadth and impact of the Open House artist in residence, Artist Facilitators will support the programme and deliver inspiring workshops and activities. These will be delivered in a wide range of spaces and places in and around Orchard Park, Arbury, Kings Hedge’s and East Chesterton to enable the broadest access. Open House will deliver activities to support community cohesion. These activities will welcome engagement with community members from diverse backgrounds; including vulnerable children, young people & their families, isolated older people, people who are new to English and the long-term unemployed. Circuit Circuit is a four year national programme connecting 15–25 year olds to the arts in galleries and museums working in partnership with the youth and cultural sectors.

Festival - During the third year of the Circuit Cambridge programme, Wysing Arts Centre and Kettle’s Yard will develop a city-wide festival in Cambridge during October 2015, that encourages other young people to get involved in the arts, including through digital technologies.
