Possess a good ear
Interested to learn about different musical traditions (e.g.
Asian, Classical, Jazz, Popular)
Competent in performing and/or creating music
Keen interest and willingness to commit to four years of
in-depth study in Music
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO
APPLY FOR MEP?
Pass MEP Selection Exercise, comprising the following:• Listening Test• Practical Audition (2 contrasting pieces on an
instrument/voice in any style of a total duration of 5 min)• Aural Test• Interview (Applicants who have composed music could bring
along their scores/recordings for their interview. Please note that this is not a mandatory requirement.)
At the point of application, students should be able to perform or improvise competently on one musical instrument

Other Considerations
• Time Management and Commitment Commit to the scheduled lesson timings and enrichment activities, and
coping with extended lessons, additional projects and assignments.
• Distance Students enrolled in AEP/MEP Centres would have to travel to the
centres for lessons one afternoon a week.
