Creating an atmosphere of goodwill so the students, parents, teachers, administrators and the community continue to value PTA
TRANSITION – Getting Started The current (outgoing)
secretary should submit officers to GA State, Area 2 and District 12. Deadline was 5/1, please do so ASAP!
Outgoing and Incoming officers meet at least once
Planning for an Effective Transition Outgoing officers turn over records to incoming
officers Discuss what worked; what didn’t Review the budget and any outstanding bills Outgoing treasurer submits the books for audit
no later than one week after the last day of school.
Give the new team EVERYTHING they need to build on previous successes.

Leadership Resource Guide Procedure Books Job descriptions Reports – Treasurer and Committee ALL meeting minutes and agendas

REMEMBER… The outgoing officers may not write checks after
the last day of school. The checkbook must be given to the incoming
treasurer by the last day of school. The check stubs for the current year must be given
to the auditor. The incoming officers should start working on their
Plan of Work immediately before school ends. New officers attend Leadership Training
Conference July 11-12, 2014. New (co-)President(s) – Only you are authorized to
sign contracts, but only with the approval of your board.
Incoming Officers Meet with the Principal – don’t wait until August! Appoint the committees and committee chairs Decide on your goals and programs Develop your calendar (and share it!) Develop a budget Review your Standing Rules and amend as

Recruit committee volunteers
What to work on now: Recruit committed chairpersons and
volunteers. Membership Campaign – be ready to
promote and sell memberships at Open House and every event
