We do not have a hot weather policy, but instead have a “Sun Protection Policy” which has now been placed on our website for parent information. Our sun protection policy has been adopted to ensure that all staff and students are protected from skin damage caused by UV radiation from the sun. In the meantime, all staff have been made aware of the policy and will implement it as far as practicable. Should you have any queries about our processes please don’t hesitate to contact me. BUS TRANSPORT Another issue recently raised with me is the use of seatbelts on buses when students go on excursions. As it is not mandatory for all schools buses to be fitted with seatbelts, staff book buses within the Department of Education Excursions Policy and Guidelines. We usually use only a couple of bus companies who provide us with competitive quotes and the appropriate level of insurance. Some of these buses are equipped with seatbelts, however this does force up the price of excursions, especially for longer trips. Should travelling on a bus without seatbelts be an issue, you are more than welcome to discuss private transport arrangements with the classroom teacher. PARENT / TEACHER INFORMATION SESSIONS

All teachers will be holding Parent Information Sessions during

Weeks 4 and 5. The purpose of these meetings is to outline to

parents the teaching and learning programs planned, together

with organisational structures used in the room. Teachers will

discuss Curriculum, Behaviour Management, Homework,

Communication and other day to day operations of the class.

These meetings are not designed to allow time for

parent/teacher interviews, however these could be scheduled at

a later date. Staff have been asked to plan for a 30 minute time

and will communicate with you the planned meeting time.

Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Have a great week.
