the highest mountains on the earth, the deepest gorges, great rivers,
ancient cultures and colourful people. If you enjoy exploring stunning
landscapes there are some of the finest treks in the world, from easy
hikes to more challenging explorations into remote high and wild
landscapes. If you are looking for culture, go overlanding and explore
ancient monasteries and temples, bustling market squares, tranquil
courtyards, imposing fortresses, stunning palaces and picturesque
villages. If you seek thrill, rise to the challenge of climbing some of the
highest peaks in the world, soar with the eagles through Himalayan
skies, track the Royal Bengal Tiger on a jungle safari, feel the roar and
surge on some of the best white water runs anywhere on earth.
We run more than 120 different adventure trips to Himachal,
Uttarakhand, Ladakh –Zanskar, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Bhutan as
of now. We pack in action for everybody, with our travellers' AQ ranging
from 1 to 5 on a scale of 5. Following are some of the experiences we
highly recommend…
WILD ENCOUNTERS:
RIVER EXPEDITIONS:
Great Himalayan National Park:
Pin Valley National Park:
Hemis National Park:
Corbett Horse Safari:
Raft the Alaknanda and Ganga:
Zanskar River Rafting:
Bramhaputra River Journey:
GHNP comprises 754 sq kms; it is
naturally protected by areas under permanent snow or by impassable
ridges. The varied habitats of GHNP support the full range of western
Himalayan biodiversity, from subtropical to alpine.
Stretching
over 675 sq km in the catchment areas
of the Pin and Paraiho rivers in the Spiti
subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti district,
altitudes in this park range from 3500m
to 6000m. The best time to visit is July-
August. The park is known for large
herds of ibex and bharal or the blue sheep and the elusive snow leopard.
The Hemis High-Altitude National Park spread
over 3000 sq km, straddles both banks of the Zanskar River in eastern
Ladakh. The area is a stunning high altitude desert and wildlife is
scattered far and wide. The trekking is easy and can include charming
homestays.
Ride through the spectacular sal and teak forests
of Corbett country, through streams whose crystal-clear waters brim with
mahseer. Drop the jeep safari and explore the jungles in true angrezi
sahib style. Enjoy a wild horseback safari while we recreate the magic of
Raj era especially for you.
Few other adventures can match the
thrill and adrenaline rush of rafting and kayaking. We run weekend
introductory trips on the great rivers, Alaknanda and Ganga as well as
outfit and run full scale, multi day rafting and kayaking expeditions on
these rivers.
Today, few places on earth seem truly remote.
But atleast one remains truly far away: the high and wild Zanskar valley,
enclosed by high ridges and mountains, high altitude barrenness,
bitterly cold, cut off for eight months in a year, cut across by a stunning
river. Rafting down the roaring Zanskar is truly the trip of a lifetime.
Bramhaputra is the only male river in
India, and it shows in its strength and scale. It changes course at whim,
sand banks appear out of nowhere and strong currents flow in its depths.
But it slashes its way through one of the most scenic regions in the
country. Take a luxury cruise along the river and get the opportunity to
visit far-flung communities and Kaziranga and Manas National Parks.
CLIMBS:
Friendship, Shitidhar and
Ladakhi Peaks: Friendship
(5289m), Shitidhar (5250m) and
Ladakhi (5345m) peaks in the
Beas Kund area are ideal non-
technical peaks for those with
limited or no mountaineering
knowledge.
Stok Kangri: A magnet for
amateur climbers from across
the world, Stok Kangri (6183m)
is the highest peak in Ladakh.
The south route to the peak
provides stunning views of the
Karakoram Range, even K2 in
the far distance.
SKI/SNOWBOARD:
We run ski and snowboard
focused trips to Solang Valley in
Himachal Pradesh. For
beginners we offer courses in
Basic and Advanced Skiing. For
experts we kit out all the
equipment and expert guides.
Solang boasts a ski lift and a ski
run in excess of 3.5 km.
GLIDE:
We run paragliding courses
based at our adventure lodge at
Solang Valley. Expert instructors
coach in solo and tandem
gliding. Courses are divided in
basic, intermediate and
advanced modules spread over a
week each.
ACTIVE OVERLANDING:
The Manali – Leh Classic – (4WD / Bike / Motorbike):
Shimla – Manali across Kinnaur and Spiti – (4WD / Bike /
Motorbike):
!
Outlook Traveller calls it 'The BIG Trip'. In its own words: ''For 473 long
kms the road clings, slips, slides, punches and wriggles its way
through some of the most spectacular terrain in the world. Along the
way it crosses 4 high passes, fords streams and rivers and clings
precariously to tumbling mountain surfaces''. Short of words, this is
indeed the trip of a lifetime
This route takes you through the lush green Kinnaur, brimming with
apple orchards, dominated by Kinnaur Kailash onto the rugged, barren
and awe inspiring Spiti. The Spiti valley is dotted with monasteries
dating back centuries, timeless villages and exotic wildlife.
TREKS:
Beas Kund and Bhrigu Lake:
Spiti Left Bank:
Nandadevi Biosphere Reserve:
Bedni and Ali Bugyals:
Padum to Darcha:
Chadar Trek:
Across Namdapha National Park:
The trail to Beas Kund through Solang
Valley meanders through some of the most beautiful mountainscapes
in Himachal. At 4,270m. Bhrigu Lake is one of the most easily accessible
high altitude lakes affording panoramic mountain views on a clear day.
The trek can be done over 3-4 days.
An awe inspiring trail along the stunning Spiti River
which gives the valley its name. For those who venture on these trails,
every windswept hamlet still has a smiling, grimy face to soften the
overwhelming starkness of the landscape.
A stunning trek into the shadows of
the peak, which has been described as the most beautiful in the world,
by some of the most accomplished mountaineers. We try to get you
there by some of the least permitted trails, though the east base camp is
accessible through another route.
This has got to be one of the most romantic
places in the Himalaya – acres and acres of meadow scooped out of lush
mountainscape, a steep ridge arching up into the dusk, and above the
enormous western flank of Trishul.
This is a moderate trek and is great for the first
experience in Trans Himalayan trekking. The trek crosses Shingo La
(5050m) and goes through beautiful remote villages and campsites.
Experience the Himalayan jewel of Phuktal monastery and Gombu
Rangjom rock surrounded by pastures full of wild flowers.
For the ones who can brave temperatures that dip down
to -30 degrees, there is one of the most beautiful and challenging trek
in the world. This is one trail that literally slips beneath your feet! You
walk on frozen Zanskar River in the peak of Zanskari winter, through
landscapes which you will never witness elsewhere.
You won't find any trekkers on this
route nor would you find this trek anywhere else. An AQ classic which
takes you across the most remote jungles in Arunachal Pradesh, where
all the four big cats - tiger, leopard, clouded leopard and snow leopard
roam. This is also a ground for magnificent Elephant Safari.
