  • REBUILD CENTER AND LANTERN LIGHT We deeply grateful to the Kiwanis and St. Dominic School for the hot lunches this week. Our guests always enjoy the hot lunches. We wish to thank students from Tulane University who provided us with a supply of sandwiches. Another great treat that our guests love is the homemade bread pudding which is provided by Thomas. Thank you Thomas. We are grateful to have so many wonderful people who provide us with supplies but we also have a number of wonderful volunteers who come each week to serve lunch or to help prepare sandwiches. All are important parts of this great work and we thank you for your partnership. SCRIPTURE BULLETIN BITES

“My sheep hear my voice; I know them and they follow me.” John 10:27-30 There are very few family members or friends that we cannot identify by their voice. Jesus tells us that His followers hear His voice. Jesus also says He knows us. Jesus does not need to know our voice. He knows US! He knows what we need before we say it. But, do we know the voice of Jesus? And, what do we do when we hear the voice of Jesus? Do we hear the voice of Jesus in prayer, when we stop speaking and listen - listen for God’s will for us. De we hear the voice of Jesus in our family, our friends, and strangers - through the people and events in our lives. Jesus challenges us to be and to do all that God created us to be and do. When we hear ourselves saying “No, I don’t want to love that per-son or take that risk or challenge that evil, we probably just heard from God. How do we respond as stewards of our prayer life and of all that God has given us? Our first response may be “No!” Our final response must be “Yes Lord!”

WHO ARE WE? Who are “we” today as we sing “We are his people, the sheep of his flock” in the responsorial psalm? It is very easy to think that it is just us, at this Mass, or just the members of this parish or diocese, or perhaps we are thinking it is all Roman Catholics in the United States. But “we” are much larger and broader than that. If you take a globe or atlas in your hand, it would be difficult to point to any place on land where “we” aren’t singing this psalm today. Not only that, but “we” are the saints who survived the great time of trial, as described in Revelation’s reading today. And “we” continue to grow not just in numbers but in complexity and diversity as the work begun by Paul and Barnabas in today’s first reading continues. But, even though who “we” are, the flock of the Lord, is almost beyond our abil-ity to comprehend, we all hear the voice of Jesus Christ, our one and only shepherd, as we continue through the Easter season to follow him faith-fully. © Copyright, J.
