287. Why is the Holy Eucharist
the paschal banquet?
The Holy Eucharist is the paschal
banquet in as much as Christ sacra-
mentally makes present his Passover
and gives us his Body and Blood, offered as food
and drink, uniting us to himself and to one another
in his sacrifice.
Abortion isn’t an issue. It’s a
wicked act of child murder. Freedom of “choice”
is such a deceptive way to describe the slaughter
of the unborn. Pray and work to end abortion.
Week 5
Gabriela’s heart is now pumping blood. All four
chambers of the heart are working. The lungs start
to appear along with the brain. Arm and leg buds
appear. Soon Gabriela will be doing somersaults in
the spacious world of the womb. Her mother is
probably tired and may experience morning sick-
ness as her body adjusts to the baby.
“You did form my inward parts, you did knit me
together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for
you are fearful and wonderful. Wonderful are your
works! You know me right well.”

I cannot say: I forgive my sins. Forgiveness is asked for, is asked of another, and in confession we ask for
forgiveness from Jesus. Forgiveness is not the fruit of our own efforts but rather a gift, it is a gift of
the Holy Spirit who fills us with the wellspring of mercy and of grace that flows unceasingly
from the open heart of the Crucified and Risen Christ. ~Pope Francis

Multipurpose Hall for Ongoing Pastoral Formation
for the ALCP in the Opus Spiritus Sancti
In the year 2015, the Apostolic Life Community of Priests in the Opus Spiritus Sancti started the construction
of the multipurpose hall for ongoing pastoral formation for priests and lay Christians in Moshi/Tanzania. It is
a multipurpose hall which can accommodate 120 people. The funds for the construction of this hall came
from our friends and the salaries of our priests who are doing pastoral ministry in Europe and in the United
States. We are expecting to finish the work of painting the multipurpose hall and we shall bless and inaugu-
rate both the ongoing Pastoral Formation house and the multipurpose hall on April 26, 2017.
Dear Parishioners, I am writing to ask your financial support for buying 34 dining tables and
272 table chairs (The multipurpose hall will be used as refectory or dining hall).
Fr. Ben, formerly from St. Jude will be speaking at all the Masses next weekend for this purpose.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Israel, Superior General, ALCP/OSS
As often as you hear the clock strike the third hour
immerse yourself completely in My Mercy, adoring
and glorifying it, invoke it’s omnipotence for the
whole world, and particularly for poor sinners, for
at that moment mercy was opened wide for
every soul. ~ Diary of St. Maria Faustina #1572

Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls
out from the abyss of its misery to Thy mercy ~ to Thy compassion,
O God; and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out.
Gracious God, do not reject the prayer of this earth's exiles!
O Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding, Who are acquainted
with our misery through and through, and know that by our own
power we cannot ascend to Thee, we implore Thee: anticipate us
with Thy grace and keep on increasing Thy mercy in us, that we
may faithfully do Thy holy will all through our life and at death's
hour. Let the omnipotence of Thy mercy shield us from the darts of
our salvation's enemies, that we may with confidence, as Thy chil-
dren, await Thy final coming ~ that day known to Thee alone. And
we expect to obtain everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness. For Jesus is our hope:
Through His merciful Heart, as through an open gate, we pass through to Heaven. ~ St. Maria Faustina Diary (1570)
