Childrens church school has beenfilled with a lot of drama during thisLenten season.

We started the first week in Lent with the reenactment of the LastSupper, followed by Judas selling Jesusout, then Jesus arrest, and finally Peters denial of Jesus.

Several children have kindly offeredto be actors in our weekly passionplays. I appreciated their time andeffort and want to thank all them:

Jeremy Edwards, Kelsey and BenMcDaid, Peter Nelson, Grant Nilson, and Aaron McNelis.

On Palm Sunday, we will all join inand celebrate Jesus arrival in Jerusa-lem by processing with the choir whilejoyfully waving palms.

We are alsomaking symbolsto attach to ourpersonal ban-ners to remindus of the jour-ney.

There willbe no churchschoo l onEaster Sunday, but there willbe activity bagsfor the childrenin the narthex.

If all of theseactivities soundlike fun to you, please let meknow. I am in search of teachers forthe next three sessions. It is very flex-ible all prep work is done for you and the children are great!

And mark your calendars now for

Vacation Church School, which hasbeen scheduled for June 22 - 26, 9 amto noon each day.

    A Dramatic Lent

by Mary Jo Blazek,Childrens Ministry Coordinator

At Stone Church this year, Lent andEaster have focused on the theme,

A Table of Element s. During April,

sermons, including childrens ser-mons, will focus on the elements andscripture passages outlined below.

Something new has been added tothe church organ.

During Advent, when you heardbells tinkling in the distance(excluding the Christmas Eve serviceto which everyone brought bells!), did

you wonder what you were hearing?

It was the new Cymbelstern. A Cymbelstern is a musical instru-ment that rings small bells at randomas an accompaniment to organ music.Cymbelsterns have been used for cen-turies in devotional music.

Cymbelstern means Cymbal Star .In fact, the original Cymbelsterns

were made in the shape of a star withsmall bells at each point. The star

was turned, either manually or pneu-matically, and the bells were struck by stationary clappers mounted aroundthe star. Modern Cymbelsterns areelectrically operated. The bells do notrotate instead, a rotating device inthe center strikes the bells.

To see the Cymbelstern, stand inthe center of the chancel facing theorgan, and look up, almost to the ceil-ing. In the far left corner, you will seea small black box, which contains theCymbelstern.

You may it hear it during the servicenow and again not often but when

you do, what a glorious sound! - Joyce Rhodes

Do you believe in miracles? Youknow the wonderful things thathappen unexpectedly?

During an early February meetingof the Communications Subcommit-tee, we all wishedwe had better quality equipment to videotape the upcom-ing Henrietta Perdue Lectures withDr. Patrick Miller. The following day, Ken and I met
