The Court Clerk is also the initial point of contact for public inquiries regarding the Northern California Intertribal Court System, and is responsible for other duties assigned by the Court Operations Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Under the supervision of the Court Operations Manager, and in accordance with Judicial Council policies and procedures, the Clerk of the Court is responsible for: 1. order to preserve fair access to the court; 15. Travels to various worksites of consortium Tribes and offers guidance, training and provides recommendations to

ensure consistent office procedures;16. Contributes to the development of office policies and procedures;17. Swears in parties/witnesses and ensures all other Court functions are exercised regularly;18. Orders and maintains necessary office supplies.

The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the Court Manager.

form. 6. Must be customer service oriented.7. Solve problems involving multiple variables in a various situations. 8. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and

decimals9. Proficient in common office software including: Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS

Access and Adobe Acrobat Professional. 10. Capable of learning court case management software and other software used by the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree in related field preferred, a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; and four (4) years’ experience working in an administrative support position with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience involving public contact in a legal environment required. Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge of Tribal government, language and culture is preferred but not required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License and insurable for auto insurance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is subject to many interruptions and the applicant may be required to handle multiple calls and inquiries at once. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
