FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OVERVIEW WHERE PROFESSIONALS ARE MADE.

MarionTC.edu | 352.671.7200 | /MyMarionTC

Marion Technical College accepts many forms of financial assistance (see the MTC catalog for a detailed list of financial aid sources). Students must re-apply for all financial aid each award year. Award years run from July 1 to June 30. (A student who will be in attendance in more than one award year will need to re-apply for financial aid) Students enrolled in a program for multiple years are required to reapply for each of those years.

Federal Pell Grant – Federal Pell Grant does not require repayment, is based on established financial need, and is available only to students who have not received a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Eligibility is determined by a formula developed by the United States Department of Education. Students must be enrolled in a Federal Pell eligible course of study of at least 600 clock hours to be eligible for Federal Pell Grant. Marion Technical College’s school code is 031039. The 2019–2020 maximum Federal Pell Grant amount is $6,195, and is disbursed in segments referred to as payment periods of 450 clock hours or less as determined by the length of the program.

MTC Financial Aid – A limited number of MTC Financial Aid awards are available for eligible students entering qualifying programs. MTC Financial Aid covers a portion of the tuition cost, calculated at a qualifying rate of up to $3.00 per clock hour, depending upon the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) range and fund availability. Interested parties should contact the financial aid office for information and details of availability, requirements, and eligibility. MTC Financial Aid does not have to be repaid (Satisfactory Academic Progress is required). Students must submit an error-free (2019–2020) FAFSA online to be considered. Use Marion Technical College’s school code 031039 when submitting your FAFSA.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID To apply for federal student aid, you must complete and submit the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA).

To complete and submit a FAFSA, go to www.fafsa.gov and use the Marion Technical College school code 031039. By completing the FAFSA application, you will automatically be considered for federal student aid. In addition, Marion Technical College may use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for non-federal aid.

Completing the FAFSA is an easy process, and it’s completely free. We recommend that you submit your FAFSA online using FAFSA on the web, as your application will process within 3–5 days. Under certain conditions, a paper FAFSA may be used.

NOTE: Students receiving financial aid may still incur out-of-pocket expenses.
