Welcome to Santa Rosa Junior College Petaluma Puente Project The Puente Project starts with a yearlong commitment that will leave you with experiences that will last you a lifetime. Puente will teach you how to navigate the community college system and provide you with the tools necessary to graduate from SRJC and transfer to a four year college. Puente allows you to build your own bridge to success by providing you a Mentor, Counseling, and English Instruction. After the first year, you follow up with the counselor by checking in at least once a semester. You will have the Puente teams support throughout your time at SRJC. Puente is more than just a program it becomes a familia, building connections with other students, professors, and professionals in the community! Application Process o Fill out the Puente Application and e-mail as a pdf to the email listed below or drop off at the Counseling office: Kathleen Doyle Hall rm. PC 216. You only need to return the pages 2-3. o Submit the Autobiographical statement. Essay prompt is in the application. o Schedule an appointment with the Puente Counselor, Roberto Alvarado Contact info: 707-778-3916 or email [email protected] Office: Kathleen Doyle Hall, rm. PC 228 o Attend the Mandatory Puente Orientation (usually held around the 3 rd or 4 th week in July)

As a student: • You must enroll in English/Counseling in the Fall: ENGL 1A, ENGL 50,

and COUN 10. In the Spring: ENGL 5 and COUN 80. • You must attend cultural/social activities and visit universities • Make a commitment of time to participate in all activities and

events. • Student must utilize educational/counseling services. • Follow up after the first year by checking in with the counselor at
