A music festival is: music-focused or dance-focused, and has performances by a series of persons or groups that are engaged to play or perform to live or pre-recorded music, or to provide another form of musical or live entertainment, and is held within a defined area, and is attended by 2,000 or more people (on any day), and is a ticketed event, and is not a concert. What you need to know The applicant must be the festival promoter or organiser. The licensee must be the main organiser of the music festival. The approved agent must be an individual. A licensee may decide to appoint an agent to sell and supply liquor under the music festival licence. Any other liquor licences at the venue will be automatically suspended for the duration of the music festival. If the application is granted, the applicant will become the licensee. Please lodge your application at least 90 days before the music festival start date. An accelerated application fee may be charged if you lodge your application after this date. You are encouraged to reach out to your Local Police Area Command, Local Health District and NSW Ambulance before you lodge your application. This will allow you to incorporate their feedback into the Safety Management Plan which you need to provide to us as part of your application. The processing fee for this application is not refundable if the application is withdrawn or not granted.
