The Partnership

LUISS Business School, accredited by EQUIS, is the School of Business and Management of University

LUISS Guido Carli, in Rome (Italy), which leads the development and the growth of individuals and

The International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) is an

intergovernmental organisation devoted to the sustainable development of agriculture and fisheries,

food and nutrition security in rural and coastal areas. Thirteen Mediterranean states members include

Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and

Turkey. CIHEAM’s goal is to contribute to the development of a global, innovative and committed

vision in the field of education and training, research, networks and open knowledge platforms,

cooperation and technical assistance, political dialogue and partnership.

CIHEAM strongly pursues its mandate through the work of four national institutes based in Italy (Bari),

Greece (Chania), France (Montpellier) and Spain (Zaragoza), in collaboration with several international

and regional organisations.

The project and the training course at a

glance

The overall aim of this project is to help the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and the Government of

Pakistan in their efforts to reduce poverty and improve quality of life indicators of poor communities

in identified Union Councils (UCs) in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administered Tribal

Areas and Neighboring Areas. Following the Program Objectives, this project will provide local

community leaders and members knowledge, tools, networking opportunities for: (i) empowering and

developing engaged communities; (ii) creating livelihood opportunities for communities and

marginalized groups (especially young and female members of the communities); (iii) increasing

health promotion and education through lifestyle and service delivery restructuring (ICTs).

Study of Cooperative model of Italy for Benefitting Subsistence Farmers

Training visit to Italy for innovative health and nutrition models

Expected outcomes of project

Following the Kirkpatrick model for the assessment of educational programs, this project will produce

the following outcomes: (i) satisfaction of participants in attending the educational programs; (ii)

learning of new competencies and tools; (iii) changes in individual behaviors; (iv) changes in

community / organizational behavior and performances. The first two outcomes will be monitored at

the end of each class through a survey and a test. The report on satisfaction and learning metrics will

be delivered to the Client within two weeks after the completion of each module. The third and fourth

types of outcomes will be monitored 2 months after the completion of each module, in order to give

the participants enough time to start making an impact by using the competencies and tools acquired

in the classroom. Data will be gathered through interviews by phone or other communication media.

Specific outcomes of training course on olive supply chain

At the end of the program participants will be mainly capable of:

Describing the different varieties and qualities of olive oil

Identifying the criteria for the choice of the land

Describe the cultivation and production techniques

Develop inter-organizational associations to coordinate the value chain

Develop a marketing plan for their olive oil
