TYPICAL CLASSROOM ?’S
• 98% of questions asked in a classroom are answered correctly… where is the challenge at?
• Most questions are based on recall and remote memorization (formulas, vocabulary, names, dates, etc)
• One dimensional with one or few correct answers
• Depth refers to approaching or studying something from the concrete to the abstract from the known to the unknown
• Requires students to examine topics by determining the facts, concepts, generalizations, principles, and theories related to them
• Necessitates uncovering more details and new knowledge related to a topic of study
• Encourages students to adopt perspectives and to see patterns in connections
