SUMMARY Graduate student in Mechanical Engineering with the specialization in engine testing and manufacturing.

EDUCATION MS in Mechanical Engineering (Expected) MAY 2017 Michigan Technological University, Houghton MI USA GPA: 3.25 BS in Mechanical Engineering College of Engineering Roorkee,Roorkee, India GPA: 3.14

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Optimized operating condition for a water heater within constraints of flue gas and water exit temperature

Optimized the combustion setting of flame of torch burner to obtain blue flame.

Simulated furnace in chemkin to obtain equilibrium condition and adiabatic flame temperature at varied equivalence ratio.

Independently designed the new furnace operating conditions: Lean the air-fuel mixture using both flue gases and fresh air to be within the exhaust flue gas temperature and obtain blue flame temperature.

Optimizing radiator size of Yamaha Phazor engine to determine coolant temperature at high RPM and load (Team leader)

Modelled radiator design to optimizing its dimensions and design for Formula SAE car.

Verified and validated the Dyno data and obtained parameters of radiator and net heat dissipation.

Modelled heat dissipation model with current Formula SAE car radiator specifications in GT power using experimental dyno test data of Yamaha Phazor engine.

Validation of performance and emission characteristics of SI engine using GT Power (Team of 4)

Modelled a 4 cylinder Honda coupe SI engine in GT-Power as single cylinder engine.

Simulated at different equivalence ratio and engine speed to see its effect on engine performance and NOx emissions.

Results were validated with a standard reference SAE technical papers.

FSAE: Installed fuel rail connection, fuel hose setting and spark distribution Set-up for Formula SAE car (Team of 2)

Corrected oil splashing problem in fuel rail by replacing hose connection with quick rail connector, while installing the fuel line hosing.

Independently installed spark ignition system for the engine, learned the electrical system of spark distribution coil.

Improved manufacturing plant operations using lean tools

Virtual simulation of a manufacturing plant, designing & implementing the lean tools to reduce the waste.

Identifying the waste through COMMWIP, using tools like 5S, Visual controls, Value stream mapping (VSM), Theory of Constraints (TOC), Pokayoke & Process Failure Mode Analysis (PFMEA), continuous improvement and Kanban.

INTERNSHIP/COOP EXPERIENCE Co-Op: Siemens Energy- Business Process Engineer

Developing standard work instructions for manufacturing routings, conduct cost reduction & quality improvement projects.

Engineering to develop the most efficient process to manufacture and produce Shop Floor Manufacturing routers/methods.

Execute time studies and initiate process improvements for a higher level of accuracy in developing time standards, job costing, capacity planning and operator accountability.

Perform engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production. Summer Internship: Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL)-Manufacturing Intern

Trained on manufacturing and assembly processes such as CNC operations, welding, quality checks, etc.

Trained on 5S, six-sigma, quality control and waste reduction methods.

Hand on experience in manufacturing process and reading CAD drawing of mechanical components Summer Internship: Shri Ram Pistons & Rings Ltd (SRPL)-Manufacturing Intern

Analyzed the operation flow and the process improvement in production process in the piston ring plant.

Analyzed & simulated the results of tool wear rate with the different material and dimension of the ring.
