About ANPIIn 1996, the leadership of several independent telephone companies from
around the country gathered to discuss ways to diversify their businesses and strengthen ties to their customers. This group also wanted to offer competitive long distance prices to better serve the individual communities in which they do business.
They decided the best course of action was to combine their resources to more efficiently negotiate long distance rates. This group combined all of its individual long distance traffic and formed Associated Network Partners Inc. (ANPI), the first long distance aggregator in the United States. Today ANPI is the largest and one of the most successful companies of its kind due to the vision of its shareholders, customers and a dedicated team of employees who believed in the organization and its mission.
As its business grew, ANPI realized independents needed more than long distance services to remain competitive and serve the growing needs of its customers. ANPI customers stressed the need to negotiate pricing with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) as well as companies selling ISP-related products. In 2000, NewStreets, the Internet division of ANPI, was created to meet this need, expanding ANPI’s product offerings and strengthening its customer base. Today, ANPI serves Independents, Cooperatives, CLECs and Wireless Carriers across the United States.
