One thing is sure: a passing acquaintance with Jesus will not be enough. The plea of ‘We once ate and drank in your company’ is feeble. It is not enough to know Jesus only on the surface – to attend Mass every Sunday or to turn to him only when we are in need. To really know Jesus, one must walk the narrow path of the Gospel. Best You Can Be Parishioners from Ballyroan, Churchtown and Rathfarn-ham parishes are invited to take part in a reflective day entitled Best You Can Be on Saturday 21st September 2019 in The Ruah Pastoral Centre, Ballyroan.

Best You Can Be is an introduction to developing adult faith. It aims to ex-plore the nature of adult faith in keeping with Pope Francis’ vision that Christians would continue to grow in their personal relationship with God. Best you Can Be encourages reflection on the stages of faith development and participants’ images of God. The course points to Jesus as the One who shows us the way to be the best that we can be. Adult faith is about lifelong listening, learning and discerning.

The facilitation team for the day will be Ms Rosemary Lavelle (Pastoral Co-ordinator in the Office for Evangelisation and Ecumenism), Fr John Brack-en, Co-P.P. Holy Cross Church, Dundrum Ms Eilis O’ Reilly and Ms Rachel Brady, parishioners from the parish of Ss. Peter and Paul, Balbriggan.

The day begins at 10.00a.m. and finishes at 4.30p.m. Please bring a packed lunch.

If you would like to register for the Best You Can Be reflection day, you must give your name and phone number to your parish secretary.

of year.

A message to all past pupils who received their #LeavingCert2019 results. Don’t worry if it hasn’t worked out as planned. Pop in for a chat if you need to-we might remember something you’ve forgotten about yourself to help you find your path #alwaysoneofus #olvgirlsforever

The Crosscare Annual Collection for Community, Homeless and Youth services will take place in churches throughout the Dublin Diocese on the weekend of Sat 31st August and Sun 1st September 2019. Last year Crosscare saw almost 1,000 people accommodated in their homeless services and at the same time they helped 78 families and over 100 individuals move into their own homes. Through their food banks and meal services, over 175,000 meals were distributed to those in need and 14,000 parcels of food were delivered to families. Over 4,000 young people were supported through Crosscare’s Youth Work service through voluntary youth clubs and summer projects. 400 teenagers and their families found the help and support they needed in Teen Counselling.

Donors can also contribute on line at www.crosscare.ie
