Curriculum and Instruction Highlights

Program Highlights Student Highlights

Thanks to funding from

the Queen Anne’s County

Commissioners, QACPS

was able to move forward

with our

one-to-one technology

initiative. This year we

progressed

towards having technology in the hands of every student in grades 3-12

as we distributed chromebooks to students in grades 3 and 4 during

the 2016-2017 school year. In order to better accommodate the

growing number of computers connecting to the network we added a

wireless access point in every 3rd & 4th grade classroom. The five

priorities for a digital conversion are as follows: Access for All, College

and Career Ready Students, 21st Century Instruction and Teaching,

Personalized Professional Growth, and Digital Partnerships for Success.

This technology is helping us continue to make huge strides in every

classroom. Technology in our classrooms is revolutionizing testing, CTE

programs, Biomedical classes, technology classes, and Project Lead

The Way programs, to name a few. We also have been able to purchase

a new firewall to help better prevent our computers from being affected

by malware and viruses, adding additional security to protect students.

Students in Queen Anne’s County are doing amazing things everyday.

They are reaching new goals, setting the bar higher, and continuing to

thrive among students all across the state. Here are a few examples of

students that are representing QACPS state and nation-wide!
