A MESSAGE FROM

OUR CEO

A MESSAGE FROM

OUR PRESIDENT

Jewish National Fund began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. Today JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit.

Jewish National Fund prides itself on honoring the pioneers of the past and celebrating their spirit by continuing the pioneering tradition in the areas of technology, environmental progress, community development, water renewal and building the land of Israel for many years to come.

JNF affirms the bonds of the Jewish family with their strength of unity, the understanding that each member can make a difference and the collective power to build, develop innovative solutions and promote the greater good.

We believe in the endurance and prosperity of the Israeli homeland, the defense and enrichment of its soil, the rejuvenation of its deserts and the security of its people. JNF’s mission is the invention of tomorrow. When you donate to Jewish National Fund you become an integral part of Israel’s future and, in turn, play a role in whole-world growth. JNF directs every dollar to where it is needed most, and provides donors with the ability to know what they are supporting with full transparency.

JNF is your voice in Israel. Make it heard today.

Russell F. Robinson

I was raised with the ever-present Blue Box in my parents’ home—Jewish National Fund and Israel were a constant in our lives. Today, JNF is part of the lives of my entire family—my three children included—as JNF is all Israel, all the time. There is no other agenda. Our work benefits the land and people of Israel on all levels and at all times and our involvement gives us a great sense of satisfaction, fulfillment, and joy.

When you travel to Israel and see for yourself the impact your dollar makes, it is truly remarkable. The work we do with water, inclusive parks, community building, R & D, heritage sites, you name it, is second to none. These accomplishments are the result of vision, of commitment and perseverance, of hard work, of diligence.

It is unusual for a century-old organization to be as relevant today as the day it was founded. JNF is thanks to an extremely diligent Board of Directors which meets monthly; a transparency that has earned us a Four-Star

rating from Charity Navigator, the Better Business Bureau seal of approval and top ratings from other charity overseers; a devoted professional staff; and a legion of lay leaders around the country and of all ages so committed to the vision of JNF that many work harder at this than they do at their day jobs. Projects are chosen after close scrutiny, donors’ dollars are allocated and then closely monitored, and let me tell you, there is no better feeling than visiting Israel and seeing firsthand what a difference you personally have made with your philanthropic support.

The Israel of today is different than the Israel of yesterday. Today, Israel is about strength. Today, the country leads in innovation, creativity, medical advancements, water management and more. There is more to do. Those of us who are involved are choosing to be part of a winning People, of a People who are a guiding light unto the nations. There are so many ways to partner with the land and people of Israel. JNF never stops. We see a need, we fill it. Join us as we continue to build a prosperous future for the land and people of Israel.

cOmmUNiTy bUiLdiNgJNF enhances quality of life in Israel by building new communities and bolstering existing ones, especially in peripheral areas. With 90% of Israel’s population concentrated in less than 40% of the country, the northern and southern regions are largely uninhabited. JNF plays a major role in helping to develop new communities in these areas, giving families an alternative to Israel’s crowded and expensive center, and rejuvenating established towns with opportunities to combat unemployment and stagnant population growth.

JNF has been at the forefront of water management and conservation in Israel for two decades, increasing the country’s total water supply by 12% and helping Israel become a world leader in water recycling. JNF’s network of over 250 recycled water reservoirs provide almost half of the water used for agriculture in Israel, saving enough freshwater to meet the needs of 4.4 million people a year.

dONOR sOciETiEsJewish National Fund’s major donor societies

continue a legacy that dates back to 1901. It was

then that Theodor Herzl stood in front of the Fifth

Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland and announced

the establishment of JNF, passing around his hat to

collect donations to realize the dream of a Jewish

homeland in Israel. You are part of that legacy. Then

and now, supporting JNF means playing an active

role in building a prosperous future for the land of

Israel and its people.

JNF invites those who wish to make an impact in

Israel to become members of a JNF major donor

society and join a prestigious group of more than

3,000 people around the U.S. and the world who

demonstrate a deep commitment to Israel through

their support of Jewish National Fund. Your

contributions provide the critical resources that

allow JNF to improve quality of life for all in Israel.

To recognize your dedication and thank you for your

partnership, you will receive exclusive privileges and

services.

PLANNEd giviNg OPPORTUNiTiEs

CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple agreement between the donor and JNF. In exchange for an irrevocable gift of cash or securities, JNF agrees to pay one or two annuitants a fixed sum for life. The annuity payments can be monthly, quar-terly, semiannually or annually and are guaranteed by the general resources of Jewish National Fund.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUSTS Your Charitable Trust Remainder is a partnership with JNF, whereas you receive regular income and JNF receives the trust principal - or the remainder interest - when the trust terminates. This special relationship enables you to achieve your financial goals while empowering JNF to continue its important work in Israel.

CHARITABLE LEAD TRUSTS A gift plan that enables you to transfer assets to family members at reduced tax cost while making a generous gift to JNF.

LIFE INSURANCE Life insurance can also play an important role in fulfilling a donor’s intent to create a lasting legacy with Jewish Na-tional Fund. It can be done with an existing policy; a new policy can be taken out for the explicit purpose of making a charitable gift; or, JNF can be designated as the ultimate beneficiary of an existing policy.

ENDOWMENTS Endowment gifts differ from gifts to JNF’s annual campaign. The principal from the JNF Endowment Fund remains intact, providing a permanent source of funds. As the Fund grows, the income it generates to support projects grows as well.

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS For as little as $10,000 you can donate cash, stocks, bonds or mutual funds to establish a Donor Advised Fund. You will receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of your contribution and you can recommend grants to JNF as well as other charities of your choice.

BEqUESTSWhat better way is there to communicate a lifetime of good memories and success than with a bequest to Jewish Nation-al Fund? Through your will or estate plan you can perpetuate the memory of a loved one, as well as secure wishes for the future. As a result of your generosity, your name will live on through JNF. At the same time, your bequest may protect your assets from taxes and other expenses. You may also be entitled to name recognition at a park or project in Israel.

When a donor includes JNF in any of the above plans, they become members of Gould Legacy Society and are honored with:

• Name recognition in the Book of Life that will be kept on permanent display at JNF headquarters in New York City• A custom-designed Gould Legacy Society pin• Invitations to special events and lectures• For legacy gifts of $50,000 and above, our donors will receive a limited edition JNF Blue Box designed by Tiffany & Co.• Recognition in Israel

JNF’s Planned Giving programs are the most direct, efficient and financially sound methods to demonstrate your will to support the prosperity of the land of Israel and its people. They provide special opportunities to make your mark on Jewish history while granting you various estate and tax benefits.

Gould Legacy Society of Jewish National Fund is a means of honoring and promoting legacy gifts to Jewish National Fund. A legacy gift is one that is provided through our donor’s long term financial or estate plans. There are many ways to create your own legacy:
