2. The structure of the “Telephoning” module

The “Telephoning” module contains six sections, six tests and a final test. You will learn essential language and practise making and receiving telephone calls at work.

Section 1: Phone basics

In this section you will practise useful call vocabulary and numbers.

Test 1

This section tests what you have studied in section 1, “Phone basics”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Section 2: Phone calls

In this section you will practise dealing with different types of calls.

Test 2

This section tests what you have studied in section 2, “Phone calls”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Section 3: Taking messages and orders

In this section you will practise taking messages and orders over the phone.

Test 3

This section tests what you have studied in section 3, “Taking messages and orders”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Section 4: Making and receiving calls

In this section you will learn more useful expressions and practise pronunciation.

Test 4

This section tests what you have studied in section 4, “Making and receiving calls”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Section 5: Making decisions

In this section you will study language of making decisions and referring to different places.

Test 5

This section tests what you have studied in section 5, “Making decisions”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Section 6: Getting out of trouble

In this section you will practise ways of dealing with calls which are difficult to understand. You will also find a summary of language practised in the module in the Language Review tab.

Test 6

This section tests what you have studied in section 6, “Getting out of trouble”. You will receive a mark out of 10 for this test which will contribute to your final assessment.

Final test

The final test contains four sections that test what you have learnt in the module. This test is marked out of 40 and contributes to your final assessment.
