Before we beginInstalling AZQ on HTC Explorer consists of 5 steps

(20 minutes)

1. Getting your PC/Phone ready : (5 minutes)Skills needed : Copy, paste, Installation on PC

2. Unlocking the phones Bootloader : (10 minutes)Skills needed : Chrome Browser Skill, Enteringcommand lines, (This is the most complex part,the rest is cakewalk compared to this)

3. Installing ClockworkMod on HTC Explorer :(2 minutes)Skills needed :Pressing volume, power button

4. Installing AZQ on HTC Explorer : (2 minutes)Skills needed : Pressing volume, power button

5. Final QC check : (1 minute)Skills needed : using the touchscreen

Achtung/Warning!Please make sure that the phones battery is fullycharged before following these steps!

You will need

1. HTC Explorer with SD card inserted2. PC with Windows XP/Vista/7, Chromebrowser,Winzip and internet connection

Getting your PC ready

1.Create a folder called

azqinstaller on your C:

Directory

1.1 Right click -> New -> Folder

1.2 Name it azqinstaller

2. Download and Extract azqinstaller.zip to c:\azqinstaller

3. Inside c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock, Double-click toInstall HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe

Installing HTC Driver

Now that you have all the files and drivers,lets get the phone ready

1. Open your browser and go to www.htcdev.com

2. Click on Register and fill in the form

3. Registration confirmation message will appear

4. Go to your mailbox and complete the registration

5. Account Activation message will be displayed

6. Now you can login!

Enter your user name/password

7. Once you have logged in, choose UnlockBootloader

8. Click on Get started

10. Choose All Other Supported Models

11. Click on Begin Unlock Bootloader

12. Click Yes, tick all boxes and then click proceed

13. Make sure the phone is plugged in to your PCwith USB Debugging Enabled, then Go toc:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick onazqinstaller_step1.bat to put your phone inbootloader mode

14. Your phone screen should look like this, noticeFASTBOOT USB On the screen, you are now readyto proceed

15. On the HTCDEV Website, scroll down and clickproceed to step 5, then skip the next page untilwe reach step

16. Go to c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick onazqinstaller_step2.bat

17. You will see a long block of text. Copy and pastethis text into the the token field on HTCDEVWebsite (in the command prompt: Right Click >Mark > highlight the block of text > Right click tocopy).

18. Follow the instructions closely

19. Paste this string of text into the token field andclick Submit in order to receive your unlock codebinary file. You will receive this information inyour email.

20. In your mail box, an email with this message willappear

21. Download this file to C:\azqinstaller\1_unlock

22. Go to c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick onazqinstaller_step3.bat

Make sure your Unlock_code.bin is already in this folder

Achtung/Warning!If the Unlock_code.bin used isnt the onegenerated from the phone currentlyconnected to your pc, it will not run!

23. After step 22, this screen will appearUse the Volume up to move the checkbox to"Yes", then use the Power button to proceed. Yourphone will now restart!

Phones Bootloader nowunlocked!After restart, your phones bootloader is now unlocked,now we need to enable USB debugging again beforeproceeding with the installation

Installing ClockworkModon HTC Explorer

1. In the azqinstaller\2_install_clockworkmod,doubleclick on azqinstaller_step4.bat

3. Wait a few minutes while important files arepushed into the phone. At the end of this process,the phone will boot into bootloader mode

3.1 If the following lines doesnt appear in 5 minutesand he phone doesnt restart into bootloadermode, please close the window and runazqinstaller_step4.bat again

4. At the end of step 3, the phone will boot intobootloader mode

5. Press the phones power button, it will bring youto HBOOT_USB_PLUG Screen, noticeHBOOT_USB_PLUG

5. Click volume down to choose Recovery andpress the power button again to enter Recoverymode

Installing AZQ onHTC Explorer

1. The screen will display the HTC logo for a whilethen enter the recovery screen , use volume downto move the cursor to backup and restore thenpress the power button

2. Press the power button again to restore the AZQimage file

1. use volume down to move the cursor to Yesthen press the power button

2. After Restoration is complete, press the powerbutton to reboot the system and complete theinstallation process

1. AZQ should be accessible with all default scripts

Achtung/Warning!For other circles than Delhi, please consult AZQmanual to change call number and FTP server
