I believed that Beyonce would be a very good example for me to analyse as she is a huge ‘pop’ queen.

The Digipak for Beyonce ‘Beyonce’ album contains a front cover, a back cover, a booklet inside and a CD. This digipak fits in with the pop genre conventions through mise-en-scene and also appeals to her target audience. There is a black and white image of Beyonce on the album. The imagery shows representation of women as Beyonce is wearing little piece of clothing.

The font that is used for her name is continuously seen throughout the digipak as it creates brand identity. Her audience will know that it’s Beyonce album through the use of her signature font and style.

However, the back cover includes conventions such as track list, a record label, artist/album name, bard code and extra information. The images in this digipak are much more sexualised and grown

up, as she is trying to enhance her celebrity and grown up image on another level at this point in time. By using mise en scene features such as costume, hair and makeup, Beyonce is able to make herself appeal to be attractive and appealing to her male audience.
