Sun.Ergos(Greek, meaning “working together”) is a profession-al, two-man, international touring-company of theatreand dance whose mandate is to witness, explore andcelebrate the similarities and diversities of world cul-tures in order to promote greater compassion, wis-dom and understanding among people everywhere.

Unique in North America and Europe, Sun.Ergos’energetic blend of the performing arts has been com-pared to the story-telling of the Blackfoot Elders whofascinated their audiences by telling two stories atonce, one verbally, the other in movement.

Created with the idea that theatre and dance benefitfrom collaboration with all other art forms and tradi-tions, Sun.Ergos employs the visual arts with mime, singing, poetry, music, crafts, sculpture, and folk artsin their performances.

What do we do?Sun.Ergos performances explore the values, con-cerns and emotions that we share as human beings, experienced through mirrors of other times andplaces, reflecting their light on our times.

Through folk-tales from around the world or originalscripts, traditional or contemporary dance, we pro-vide lessons of unity and cooperation, exposingfoibles and conceits.

Like the Shamen who believe the world to be a sin-gle cobweb, Robert Greenwood, actor, and DanaLuebke, dancer, bring stories to life, spinning a webthat connects cultures. Meticulous research, authen-tic costumes and exquisite craftsmanship lendintegrity and depth to the experience.

On average, Sun.Ergos completes some 400 eventsper year of which approximately 300 are held inschools.

We offer tailor-made learning opportunities throughCommunity and School Residencies, Performances,Workshops, Master Classes and Lecture-Demonstrations.

Our professional classes include acting, directing, speech, design, visual arts, educational kinesiology, choreography, ballet, modern and folk dance. Thehands-on sessions create experiences for both stu-dents and instructors, increasing the learning oppor-tunity, understanding and results.

Why are we doing whatwe do?By providing extraordinary images from other cul-tures, Sun.Ergos helps to shape how we see our owneveryday life more clearly, and that often leads to realchange in peoples’ lives.

Sometimes a talking-animal character and the liquidform of a dancer can provide more of an awareness,a compassionate insight into our own lives.

They give us the aesthetic distance to see withoutjudgement, to hear without prejudice, to feel withoutfear, to smile with recognition at our own mistakesand, more importantly, to realize relevant truths aboutourselves.

Who is our audience?Sun.Ergos has performed in 17 different countriestouring in both rural and urban areas to communities, festivals, schools, colleges and universities, as wellas reserves and refugee camps. Our audiencebecomes dynamically involved – an integral part ofour performances – as Robert and Dana take theaction to them, convinced that the audiences’ reac-tions, responses and experiences are the productSun.Ergos creates.

Changing LivesSun.Ergos builds cultural bridges by helping peopleto recognize the similarities and to celebrate the dif-ferences of our human mosaic.

Whether bringing Arabs and Israelis together inAkko, introducing English story-telling to Cantonesespeakers in Kowloon or creating laughter withrefugees in Croatia, Robert and Dana are pioneerswho change and enhance peoples’ lives.

Self-ContainedSun.Ergos is also unique in that research, design,script-writing, costume, set and prop construction, promotion and administration are done in-house byRobert Greenwood and Dana Luebke.

Sun.Ergos is a totally self-contained entity.
