Options on a College Campus
Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college.
Enrollment in courses is not guaranteed.
College-readiness determined by college. No minimum GPA required.
College Readiness May need to submit SAT or ACT scores for
admission. Last opportunity to register for the ACT to apply for
Fall, 2016 admission is March 4 (test date is April 9).
Readiness also includes considering factors such as:Maturity Independence Interest
Planning on taking a course in your high school? Register with CSCC and once you receive your
Cougar ID number, share it with WCS!http://bit.ly/WCSCougarID
Place into the course in one of three ways: Submit qualifying ACT scores to CSCC Take the Compass Test on a CSCC Campus Sign up to take the Compass Test at your school
You must be registered and place into the course before the last day of school or you will be dropped from the course.
Maximum Credit Hours
Formula to determine eligible college hours:
• Take student’s # of high school only Carnegie units and multiply by 3.
• Subtract that answer from 30.
• This will give you the number of hours for which student may earn in that academic year.
CCP limits students to 30 credit hours MAX per academic year and 120 hours total in the program
New this year: Summer Term
Summer term will apply as the 1st term of the next school year. Summer 2016 begins the student’s 2016-2017 school year.
A college’s summer term may begin in May.
There may be multiple sessions within a summer term.
Cost There is no additional cost to you to participate in
CCP courses offered at a public college/university.
There may be additional fees to participate in CCP courses offered by a private institution.
Textbooks are included. Students are required to return at the end of the
term.
Optional fees not covered under CCP including: transportation parking
Credit
Successful completion of the course results in earned credit on both your high school AND college transcript.
Your CCP course grade will be reflected on both transcripts and follow the College’s grading scale.
CCP courses carry 1.25 weighted credit
3 semester hours or more = 1 high school credit
Points to consider Is this a right fit for me based on my strengths and goals? College courses may take more time. You are building college transcript.
Courses may transfer differently to other institutions. Check out transferology.com to explore the portability of
credits.
College courses follow the institution’s guidelines (dates in session, withdraw procedures).
There is a financial obligation to reimburse the district if you fail or do not complete a course, including withdrawing with a W.
Find the Colleges and Courses that Fit
Students have options!
Sample pathways are highlighted in the HS Course Description Guide on pgs. 22-23.
Pathways are courses to help guide you, not obligate you.

CCP, AP, IB, Honors — What’s Best for YOU? Selective or highly selective admission colleges want
students who have exhausted their high school college preparatory curriculum.
If you are considering an Ohio public college, then AP, IB or CCP are good fits for you. HOWEVER, you will want to determine which is best for you and your learning needs.
If you are considering a college outside of Ohio, AP or IB might be better options than CCP because they have more of a national reputation. Always look at credit by examination on potential colleges'
websites to see what score you need to earn to receive credit.
Deadline for Students: By April 1,you must tell us if you intend to participate next year.
