Real estate developer Walter G. McCarty sought to lure the local in-crowd by building the luxe Beverly Wilshire Apartment Hotel, on the site of the Beverly Auto Speedway. Since opening its doors January 1928, Beverly Wilshire has experienced an extraordinary journey of transformation and growing recognition. With long-term guests including Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Steve McQueen, the Hotel has proudly welcomed Hollywood’s elite for nearly a century.
