Guidelines

Date & Time of the event: August 26th, 2018 @ 2:00 – 8:00 PM

Location of the event: HSNC (Hindu Bhavan), 309 Aviation Pkwy, Morrisville, NC 27560

These are preliminary guidelines subject to change at a later point by the organizers without any prior

notice. If there are questions about any of these, please communicate with the organizers.

Liability Release Form: Your registration is not complete until you submit the signed liability release form

to the organizers before the event.

Quizathon Championship Trophy Segments: Competition Segments The competition will be broken

down into 4 separate segments based on the current school grades as follows:

1. KG – 1st grade

2. 2nd – 3rd grades

3. 4th – 5th grades

4. 6th – 8th grades

Quizathon Championship Trophy Format: The competition will be conducted in 2 parts. First a written

test will be held and then winners from the written test for all segments except KG – 1st grade grade

group will participate in onstage Quizathon Championship Trophy.

Quizathon Championship Trophy - Topics: The topics for written competition will consist of about 20 - 25

multiple choice type questions. The questions for each of the above segment will be selected from

a range of topics and the topics are available on the flyer and also www.tahts.org

Quizathon Championshp Trophy Final Competition: There will be no on-stage championship for KG -

1st grade segment. For the other segments, there will be a written test to select 9 individual

winners. The 9 winners will be divided into 3 groups randomly for final Quizathon Championship

Trophy. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning groups will be determined based on their performance.

Please read the following if you have registered your students for “Quizathon Championship Trophy”

The Quizathon Championship written competition will be held on August 26th 2018 @ Hindu Bhavan @ 2:00

PM for all grades. All registered students WILL participate in the written competition. The qualifying

participants from Grades 2nd through 8th only will participate in On-Stage “Quizathon Championship

Trophy”

1. What time is the registration going to start?

Registration will start sharp at 1 PM.

2. What time should I arrive at the venue?

You should arrive at the Written check-in desk at the competition venue at at times indicated: The

Written competition is scheduled for 1:00 PM. Please plan to arrive at this time to allow for check-in. The

actual test time will be from 3:00 – 3:30 PM.

3. Where should I drop off my student once I arrive at the competition venue?

Students should be dropped off at the venue and you will be guided by friendly event volunteers.

4. Will I be allowed to enter the competition venue? Will I be able to watch my student take the contest?

Parents will not be allowed to enter the competition venue under any circumstances.

5. What if we arrive late for the contest? Will my student be allowed to appear?

Students will be allowed to participate in the Written competition as long as they are registered, but if you

arrive late your student will have less time to finish the test as the test start and end times are fixed. Your

student may not have time to read the rules/ guidelines, so it is important to arrive on-time.

6. Will I receive any further guidelines for the competition?

No. This flyer provides all the necessary guidelines. Any further guidelines will be given to the students at

the time of Written Trivia.

7. Will writing supplies, paper, pencils, etc be provided?

Yes. Pencils, erasers and paper supplies will be provided. You are strongly encouraged to bring a clip-

board as a hard surface writing pad to support paper.

Please read the following if you have registered your students for “Quizathon Championship Trophy”

8. What time will the Written competition end? When can I pick up my student?

All written competetions will end at approximately 3:30 PM. Please plan to pick your students PROMPTLY

after the competition.

9. When will the winners from Written competition be declared?

All winners from the written competition will be declared as soon as results are available (in about one hour

after the written competition is completed) around 4:00 PM @ the venue.

10. When and where will the On-Stage “Quizathon Championship Competition” take place?

The on-stage Quizathon Championship will take place at HSNC immediately after announcing th results of

the written competition around 4:00 PM.

11. Who is eligible for On-Stage “Quizathon Championship Trophy”?

The top 9 contestants from the Written competition from Grade 2-3, Grade 4-5, Grade 6-8 segments ONLY

are eligible. For the On-Stage “Quizathon Championship Trophy” competition, the top 9 contestants within

each segment will be assigned to 3 teams in a random order.

12. When and where will the trophies be distributed?

The winners will be declared and the Trophies will be distributed immediately after the end of the on-stage

“Quizathon Championship Trophy” Competition @ 5:30 PM.

13. Is food/water allowed in the Written Trivia room? Are restroom facilities available?

No outside food/water will be allowed in the room. Drinking water and restroom facilities will be available at

the venue. Snacks, tea/coffee will also be available at the venue.

14. Can I get my students answer sheet after the contest is over?

The Written competition sheets or answer keys will not be provided.
