Celebrate Community is right around the corner and you might be asking yourself, "Just what is this whole thing all about?" We began to explain these exciting two Sundays several weeks ago on the back of your sermon outline. Here is a brief summation.

Sept 8 [9:30am-12:30pm] West Yard Canopy tents representing ministry participation opportunities a "Here's what we have to offer you - our church family" through our children, student, men, women, and c-group programming. Something that will fit your [and your family's] style or need. And of course, there will be food - donuts and coffee. Plus, we will have a "photo booth" so we can get started on our very own 3C Family Directory!

Sept 15 [9:30am-12:30pm] West Yard Ditto the canopy tents but NOW we want you to be so excited about what 3C has to offer that you bring your friends and family - those that have no church home - to get back to church.

A fan – an enthusiastic admirer My name is Kyle Dickerson and I am not a fan of Jesus. Jesus

wasn’t interested in fans; he asked for followers. I’m excited about taking a 6-week journey at 3C looking into what it means to be a

follower of Jesus and not a fan. A fan might want Jesus to do some touch-up work in their lives but a follower knows they need a complete makeover. I hope that if you are not involved with a c-group, that this year, you find a group that you might be able

to connect with. I pray this journey of figuring out whether we are a fan or follower will be life changing for everyone who participates.

The Track: K-5th grade Every Sunday at 9:30 and 11am!

Kids Kove: Birth through Pre-K Every Sunday at 9:30 and 11am!

What do all of these cartoon characters have in common? They are all featured in our brand new Christmas Children’s Musical called “Christmas in Toontown”! This is a huge production. We will need help from our Neon Kids (K-5th grade) and any 6th-8th graders that would still like to act. The more kids in the play, the more characters we can put on the stage! This could be a great way to get your friends involved in our church. This play has been specially written just for our kids. There are parts for everyone who wants one…. And everybody gets to wear a costume! Don’t miss our kick off meeting on September 18! Parents are welcome or you can drop your kids off. We will also have a JR Neon Kids teaching program for our younger 3 year olds through pre-K. Lots of help with costumes and weekly volunteers are needed. If you have any questions or would like to help, let me know!

6:30-7:30 for general practice for entire group, 7:30-8p.m. extra practice for special parts (starts Oct. 16).

Parts will be assigned October 9.

Our Elementary children will be working on a journey through the entire Bible this year. If you would like to donate money to purchase Bibles for students who do not have a

children’s Bible of their own, please email Lori C at [email protected]

Community Christian Church, Bethel OH

Hardly seems possible that staff is planning Christmas and into next spring and summer. You have heard, of course, that time flies when you are having fun. As I think of planning a calendar, I think of events that will help us as a church family that will do two things.

One, every church family needs to fulfill the Great Commission of going out to make more disciples. So our ministries and staff try to plan events that you can invite friends or neighbors to attend in a casual way. We know you love people; you want people to come into a relationship with Christ that will last for eternity. That is why you see “outreach type” days planned for September 8 & 15. Then the kick-off of

c-groups on September 15. It’s why we offer Men and Women Fellowships or a PrimeTimers Ministry. These are all areas that can be a side door into the church and perhaps an open door to a relationship with Christ.

The second thing the Lord wants every church to do is to help grow-up her people. Jesus told us to go and baptize people, but we also are to teach them again. This could mean a number of ways. We continue to hold Sunday School classes each Sunday morning or do you prefer Adult Bible Fellowship? Either way we are talking about coming together to study the Word of God. C-groups are also offered throughout the week. A c-group is a small group of people who are wanting to grow in Christ, with others who have that same interest. It’s a group where you can find friendships, people who you can do life with. You also get to study the Word of God with those people who should help you to live a life devoted to Christ.

All of these things require something of you. In order to have friends you need to be a friend. You need to put yourself at somewhat of a risk in reaching out to new people to see if you can encourage them, as they encourage you. As time flies by this year would you take a risk and invite someone to join you in the adventure of a lifetime by joining a c-group or

taking up the challenge to come at 9:30 to one of our ABF classes. dan
