An easy way for internal exam evaluation under ccss grading system As per the normal procedure in order to value an answer book under grading system the following procedures have to be followed Normal method 1. Assign letter grade A, B, C, D or E to each answer based on its quality where A means excellent and E mean bad. 2. Convert letter grades into corresponding grade points ie A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, E=0 3. Find weighted grade point by multiplying this grade point with respective weight of that question. Weights are similar to the marks under mark system. 4. Add up these weighted grade points and devide it with total weight of the test paper to find out the weighted grade point average(WGPA) 5. Decode the WGPA back into letter grade based on the rule below. 3.5 and above - A, 2.5- 3.49 B , 1.5- 2.49 C, 0.5 1.49 D , 0 0.5 E The above procedure is tedious and time consuming. So you can try the short cut method as explained below. Short cut method 1. Directly give the Weighted grade point to each answer. For eg: if you want give B grade for a 2 weight question then directly give 6 there (3*2). Similary for giving A grade in a 4 weight question directly give 16 there (4*4) and so on. 2. Add up these WGPs to find out the total and convert this total directly into letter grade by defining the range. For eg: in 30 weight question paper out of 120 point, above 105 A, 75- 104 B, 45- 74 C, 15- 44 D, 0- 14 E. similarly for 15 weight question paper out of 60 points above 52.5 A, 37.5- 52 B, 22.5-37 C, 7.5 22 D, 0- 7 E and like that This method proved to be very simple and like mark system

An easy way for internal exam evaluation under ccss grading system

As per the normal procedure in order to value an answer book under grading system the following

procedures have to be followed

Normal method

1. Assign letter grade A, B, C, D or E to each answer based on its quality where A means

excellent and E mean bad.

2. Convert letter grades into corresponding grade points ie A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, E=0

3. Find weighted grade point by multiplying this grade point with respective weight of that

question. Weights are similar to the marks under mark system.

4. Add up these weighted grade points and devide it with total weight of the test paper to find

out the weighted grade point average(WGPA)

5. Decode the WGPA back into letter grade based on the rule below.

3.5 and above - A, 2.5- 3.49 – B , 1.5- 2.49 – C, 0.5 – 1.49 – D , 0 – 0.5 – E

The above procedure is tedious and time consuming. So you can try the short cut

method as explained below.

Short cut method

1. Directly give the Weighted grade point to each answer. For eg: if you want give B grade for

a 2 weight question then directly give 6 there (3*2). Similary for giving A grade in a 4 weight

question directly give 16 there (4*4) and so on.

2. Add up these WGPs to find out the total and convert this total directly into letter grade by

defining the range. For eg: in 30 weight question paper out of 120 point, above 105 – A, 75-

104 – B, 45- 74 –C, 15- 44 – D, 0- 14 – E. similarly for 15 weight question paper out of 60

points above 52.5 – A, 37.5- 52 – B, 22.5-37 – C, 7.5 – 22 – D, 0- 7 – E and like that

This method proved to be very simple and like mark system

devide this weighted grade points with total weights of the qustion paper to find WGPA

Decode this WGPA back into letter grade using WGPA range

Multiply this grade point with respective weight of the question

find the sum of weighted grade points

Give letter grade to each answerCode letter grade into corresponding grade point

Directly give WGP(like marks) to each question

Sum up the WGP and directly convert it into letter grade based WGP range
