An age-old question is asked us all through life: “How old are you?”

The common reply is the chrono-logical measure of one’s age, given in numbers.

Next time someone asks the question “how old are you?” , a statement can be made… ‘it is a wrong question’. Or ‘it is an outmoded question, passe’.

There must be other measures about a persons, man or woman, other than one’s numerical age.

What could be said is that life is colorful. Life has various shades and hues in terms of experiences, travel, encounters, edu-cation,

There is more to life than numbers. There is both quantity and quality.

For a change, SIGLA proposes an alternative question :

”What is the color of your age?”

Then the conver-sation can be more interesting and the meeting more exciting, and the search more challenging…

SIGLA follows the colors of LIGHT for its

coding, class-ifications and

categories:

WHITE, RED,

ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE,

INDIGO, VIOLET, BLACK.

SIGLA follows the colors of Light for coding classifications and categories: WHITE, RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO, VIOLET, BLACK.

The SIGLA Learner can monitor her or his learning level using the following categories:

Color Code Category Sessions Performed Date

White 1-10Red 11-20Orange 21-30Yellow 31-40Green 41-50Blue 51-65Indigo 66-75Violet 76-85Black 86-100

For the SIGLA Learner Category, the classification is based on the Centennial Color Coding. As a beginner one starts with White for the 1st Session and the goal is to reach the 100th Session, Black..

The SIGLA Learner can monitor the number of SIGLA Sessions performed and the date of completion. The Sigla Mentor will rate the Sigla Learner based on Color Code Category. The SIGLA Learner sets this as a Goal and rates one’s self on achievement accomplished.

The SIGLA Mentor shall issue a Sigla Centennial Color Code Certificate for the accomplishment of 100 Sigla Sessions.

Ribbons, belts, shirts, scarves or appropriate symbols may be used as deem fit for the achievement.

1. SIGLA harnesses the abundant, unlimited,

boundless energies all over and all around us

provided and given inexhaustible supply the natural source of energy from the Air, Wind, Sky

. 3. SIGLA highlights the value

of Oxygen for health and wellness and the risks of

lack or limited access and pollution of the air,

wind, sky, space, atmosphere, heaven.

SIGLA follows the colors of Light for its coding classifications and categories: White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Black.

For the SIGLA Mentor Category, the classification is based on the Millenium Color Coding. The basis for the Color Code Category is the number of SIGLA Learners who have achieved the SIGLA Centennial Color Code Certificate. The SIGLA Mentor starts with White for the first 100 SIGLA Learners and the goal is to reach the 1000 th mark to earn the Black Code for the SIGLA Millenium Color Code Certificate.

The SIGLA Mentor shall coordinate with SIGLA Coordinating Center for the monitoring, reporting and recording of the levels of achievement: using the following categories:

Color Code Category Number of Centennial Certification Date of Completion

Introduction:

The Dance of Unity and Peace has its origins in the Cordillera in the Philippines. It is a ceremonial dance during the Bodong or peace pact among tribes. It is a celebration of reconciliation, peace and unity among the warring tribes. It has been interwoven in the cultural, social, political and economic ways of life among the indigenous peoples.

Music, dance and indigenous materials become the vehicles for communicating the aspirations of the people for peace and unity. The words in the local dialects to describe the dance are: Balangbang (Sagada), Paluok (Kalinga), Pattong (Bontoc)

The symbolisms of the various colors represent the tribes and races in the woven cloth of humanity.

The colors of the cloth symbolize the unity of humanity of various races: red, yellow, brown, black, white and other hues.

And the colors also signify the unity of humanity with creation as symbolized by the various ecological systems: White: Light, Energy, YouthRed: Sun, Moon, Stars, FireOrange Sun, Moon, Stars, FireYellow: Sun, Moon & Stars, Fire,

ENTRANCE:With Ten (10) Dancers / Weavers:

1. The Dancers / Weavers enter from the four corners or four winds of the Earth: North, East, West, South.(NEWS). They come closer to the Tree of Life and form an inner circle, with the Gansa players forming the outer circle. Variations in Entrances:

a. Gansa/drum players and Weavers enter alternatingly, one after the other. b. The Gansa/drum players and the Weavers come in pair

MOVEMENTS: The following movements are executed:

1. Dancers/ Weavers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.. face Earth-wise2. Dancers/ Weavers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 .. face Counter Earth-wise3. Dancers/ Weavers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9... move towards 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 .. and pass beneath their banners. 4. Dancers/ Weavers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 move towards 1, 3, 5, 7, 9...and pass beneath their banners.5. These movements are repeated as the weaving patterns are woven around the Tree of Life.6. When the banners are woven until chest- or waist- high, the Dancers/ Weavers finally knot their banners into ribbons. 7. The Dancers/ Weavers then dance around the Tree of Life.8. With everyone, Dancers/ Weavers say together “Salamat, Salamat, Salamat”.
